A Sad Farewell…

Hello, today I have a sad farewell to the Hedgehog Hollow Subscription kits. It’s appropriate that my last card is a Day of the Dead card featuring a Panda bear!

I lost my father the day after Christmas 2020 and I’ve been thinking about him a lot recently. His favorite animal (which is also my favorite animal) is a bear. So this card has extra meaning for me!

If you look closely at the background paper, you will see that I chose some of the same colors to color up my panda bear. All these papers (except the metallic) are from the last Hedgehog Hollow kit.

I added some Liquid Pearls in blue and green and pearl to the panda in various spots. When dry, the liquid pearls add such an interesting texture.

How perfect is that sentiment? I love the theme and the bear. One of my paper layer is a gold paper, to add a metallic element to the card.

Well, I will definitely miss the Hedgehog Hollow Kits! But there is still a lot going on over at Maker Forte, which is the new company Alexandra founded. So I hope you will continue to visit!

I’ll be back soon with more cards to share.

What’s Brewing?

Hello! Today I have a small witch’s cauldron card to share using the September Hedgehog Hollow kit. I have to say these images in the stamp set are so fun to create with! Today I chose a ghost and a witches hat (combined they create the cutest Witch Ghost!), a cauldron, and a broom.

I chose a couple of the papers from the kit: a grey spiderweb paper and a black and white bat paper. I changed the bat paper to GREEN with a little Limewired Color Hive ink…this is a neon green and so perfect for this Halloween card!

Then I cut down the spiderweb paper to be a little smaller and inked on the “BOO” from one of the stencils in the kit. I set that aside to dry while I colored the images.

I used Copic markers to color these images and tried to match that Limewired ink color for the hat. The cauldron got a line of Limewired gems that matched perfectly!

Before I added these images with foam tape, I inked the edge of the spiderweb paper with Vegas Strip ink to give more of a contrast.

Then I put it all together on a card base! So. Much. FUN!

Thanks for stopping by today! I’ll be back with more cards to share soon!

Magical Potions Card

Hello! Today I have a Magical Potions card using new products from the September Hedgehog Hollow subscription kit. This was a fun one to make!

I’ve created a short video to share what comes in the kit and how this card came together. Watch it below or on YouTube:

This was a fun one to create, and I just love those magical potion bottles!

Let’s Have a Picnic

Hello! Today I have 2 Watermelon picnic cards to share using the new August Hedgehog Hollow Kit. This kit is just packed with all things picnic and grilling related…it’s really great!

I have a video sharing everything in the kit, and sharing how I made these two cards. Watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I loved making these cards, and got some surprising results with glitter paste and then glitter ON TOP of that! I hope you’ll check it out!

Card One

For this card I used the larger watermelon and also the cartoon-like ant. I also chose a couple papers from the paper pack included in the kit to act as our tableclothes.

I think that sentiment is so funny…and perfect for this card!

Card 2:

For this second card, I used the watermelon and ant background stencils. This is the same idea with the “tablecloth” patterned paper. Doesn’t this just look like a picnic waiting to happen?!? (Ants and all…LOL)

Notice the watermelon rinds…I used some neon green glitter paste with some darker green glitter sprinkled on top in spots. This is to mimic the watermelon striped rinds…did you get that?

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. Thanks for stopping by today! Now, who’s ready for a picnic?

Dragonfly & Hummingbird

Hello! Today I have the new July Hedgehog Hollow kit to share along with 2 cards. I loved the large stencils included in the kit: one is a dragonfly and one is a Hummingbird. I paired them with the wildflower background stamp for some beautiful cards.

I created a process video for you, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I used the foilable ephemera in the kit on both of these cards. I love this concept because they include both the positive and negative ephemera to use up all your foil! This is difficult to explain, so watch the video to find out how to really use this!
