Polar Bears in Fall and Winter

Hello! Today I have some polar bears to share with you…the cutest polar bears! I’m making fall AND winter cards with the same sets. It is easy to use a winter set for both seasons, and today I’m going to give you some ideas and inspiration for stretching your stamps!

Winter cards

First, the winter cards. A polar bear in the snowy, cold forest, and two polar bears tubing/sledding down the sparkly hill!

Polar bear in winter trees

Then, for fall, you might not know it…but polar bears love apple harvest time! I just adore the sweaters on these cuties!

Ready to make apple juice!

I have a process video showing you the Ins and Outs of making cards for two seasons, watch it below or on YouTube:

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Sweeter than Pumpkin Spice

Hi there! It’s getting to be that time of year when it’s time for warm drinks and sweater weather! Ok, ok…maybe not here in Arizona, but it IS cooling off a little and that makes me want to make fall projects!

Today I have a fall gift card holder that’s sure to make you smile (I hope)!

Let’s Spice things up

Pumpkin spice! Confession time…I’ve never had a pumpkin spice latte (I don’t drink coffee), but I DO love pumpkin season! These fall papers make this project come together so fast!

This stamp set is a Fall Sampler from Scrapbook.com and it is SO versatile. I will have more projects coming up soon using this same set!

I created a short video to show you the process and tips you can take to TAKE THESE UP A NOTCH and make them super sweet. Watch the video below or on YouTube:

These sentiments really make me smile and I hope they make you smile, too. I turned one of these gift card holders into a card, but you can STILL slide off the stamped cozy and open the gc holder to add a note, a gift card, or some money!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. I really enjoyed making these, and I have to admit that this coffee gift card holder die is one of my favorites! It’s great for fall, winter and special occasions. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Are you excited for pumpkin season?

Wonderful Florals Stamps & Dies with Concord & 9th

Hello, everyone! Today I am spotlighting a NEW FAVORITE stamp set called Wonderful Florals from Concord & 9th. If you only get one set from this February 2018 new release, please consider getting this one! It is awesome and has quickly become a favorite for this year!

Affiliate links used when possible, thank you for your support!

I realize that I love to have a stack of the Wonderful Florals stamp already stamped out, then take my Daniel Smith Watercolor sample dots and watercolor in front of the TV. It is so satisfying AND I can be in the same room as my husband. Win-Win.

Here is my first favorite card:

sunshine-wonderful-1

Isn’t it wonderful?! This is only watercoloring that panel and cutting it down a bit to put directly onto the black card base. So simple, yet so stunning! I painted some of those flowers to look like succulents, then I painted up the flowers to look like cactus flowers (hey…I’m from Arizona, it just comes naturally!)

Next, I used that cute striped stamp in the set as a background for the die cut letters:

sunshine-striped-wonderful-2

I’ll tell you, it does wonders for your self esteem to have such a wonderful sentiment on your crafty desk! Lol. (I do keep this displayed on my desk right now!)

I love the stripes with the flowers and black die cut letters on top. I white heat embossed “You’re so” onto black paper to complete the sentiment.

Next, I wanted to use another of my very favorite stamp sets from Concord & 9th: the Barnwood Background stamp! I stamped this with Distress Oxide ink and then heat embossed it in clear to add even more texture to the card. Then I added my watercolor Wonderful Floral stamp onto black fun foam. Last, I used distress ink to ink up the letters in an ombre fashion and added some white gel dots. I attached the letters using foam tape.

sunshine-wonderful-purple

Oh my heavens, I love how this turned out! Concord & 9th has such striking, beautiful sets, don’t they?

And I may have gotten a little carried away…because I just couldn’t stop making these in all the colors!

sunshine-wonderful-rainbow

When I told my husband I was going to make this card in all the colors, he told me I was crazy. Maybe I am, Honey, Maybe I am….BUT JUST LOOK AT THAT PICTURE! It was all worth it if just to capture that picture. 🙂

On the inside of the card I stamped “Have a Wonderful Day” or “You’re so Wonderful.”

The Wonderful Floral dies are also a must have…they make it not only easy to cut out the shapes and letters for the cards I’ve made above, but they also make it easy to create SHAKER CARDS!

I used just the die cut word “Wonderful” and added a few of the single flowers around it:

sunshine-wonderful-bright-shaker

I used clear beads for the inside of the shaker and it adds such a fun element.  I white heat embossed the sentiment onto black cardstock to add before and after the shaker word. Here’s a close up:

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! As you can see, there are SO MANY things you can do with this Wonderful Florals Bundle set.

I’ll leave you with a couple more of my favorite pictures:

Birthday Stacks Stamps & Dies with Concord & 9th

Hello everyone! Today I’m thrilled to be featuring the new Birthday Stacks Stamp Set and Birthday Stacks Dies by Concord & 9th.

Affiliate links are used when possible at no cost to you.

These new products are a delight to create with and I think you will agree…they are pretty revolutionary! The Birthday Stacks dies will cut a “surround” for your images so you can create a pop-up card that is completely mailable!

Here’s the first card I created with that die and the Birthday Stacks Stamp set:

sunshine-birthday-celebrate

The “celebrate” sentiment is also a die included in this die set. Here I colored it with Copic Markers to match my color scheme, and backed it with another die cut celebrate word in black cardstock. I heat embossed the “it’s your day” on black cardstock and attached it to the very front using foam tape.

I stamped and colored the candles, then used the coordinating die to cut it out. These dies also have a notch in them to show you where to fold so they fit perfectly in your surround!

Here’s a side view to show you the dimension:

sunshine-birthday-celebrate-side-view

And it folds down to perfectly fit into an A2 size envelope! Genius, Concord & 9th! Check out the Birthday Stacks Bundle here to buy them both at a discount.

The balloons were stamped on the back surround (before I scored and folded the sides) and colored with Copic markers. I added white gel pen accents and Nuvo jewel drops to finish it off.

My next card is for a pretty significant birthday boy who is turning FIFTY!! This time I created a black card and heat embossed in silver:

sunshine-hooray-birthday-with-colored-pencil

I used the presents in the set this time, and added Prismacolor colored pencil in white, light blue, lavender, and yellow for some interest. I also heat embossed the “happy birthday” sentiment in silver on the first panel.

The die cut I used is called “Hooray die” and is a *free earned reward when you spend $60 in the Concord & 9th shop! (until March 8, 2018 or while supplies last)

Here’s a look at the side view on this one:

The great thing about these sets is that you DON’T HAVE TO USE THEM FOR POP-UP CARDS ONLY! You can also use them for traditional cards.

I created a colorful card for someone who is getting up there in age as well…and used multiple lines of candles:

sunshine-candles-youve-got-this

I love that you can simply mask the top of this stamp and create an entire background filled with candles! I heat embossed with white embossing powder, and used distress ink over the top.

That die “You’ve Got This” is from an earlier Concord & 9th Release. I die cut it from the background, then glued in some black fun foam die cut from the same phrase. I adhered the colorful, inked die cut phrase right over the top. What a fun card to give to someone who doesn’t appreciate birthdays as much! 😉

sunshine-candles-side-view

My last card is also an A2 card using these sets. I stamped and die cut several of the images, then popped them up on different levels using foam tape:

sunshine-presents-celebrate-card

I used Daniel Smith watercolors on this card, for a fast (under five minute!) card….I love it when a card comes together easily and quickly!

Just a note on that sentiment: I stamped it first, allowed it to dry, then covered it with post-it tape before stamping the balloon strings! Such an easy technique, but so fun. 🙂 There are two styles of balloon strings you can choose from, and I used both styles here.

I hope you enjoyed these cards today using the Birthday Stacks Bundle. A big thank you for stopping by!

Concord & 9th New Everyday Greetings & Everyday Circles Die

Hello! Today I am excited to be Guesting with Concord & 9th for their new February 2018 release!

Featured here are the new Everyday Tintables card pack…this is a pack of beautiful watercolor cardstock with images pre-printed on them that will resist ink! I wanted to show the versatility of these background cardstock pages, so here I have tried 4 different techniques with them.

The first is watercolor. I did a simple watercolor wash using three different colors of Gansai Tambi watercolors. Look how beautifully that resist works on this background!

sun-watercolor-thanks-card

I have also used the Everyday Circle dies and the Everyday Greeting Stamp set to create a focal point. I heat embossed the Thanks sentiment with glitter embossing powder in three colors to match my background.

The next background features Distress Ink blending. I used only three colors here: Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber, and Mermaid Lagoon…and they blended great on this paper and created the look of FIVE colors.

sun-distress-ink-congrats-card

Again, I used the Everyday Circles die, but I cut it out of both black and white papers….see the black “frame” around the white circle? It cuts that small thin frame as a bonus…so you can frame your circle in a different color to give it a layered look! So cool.

This next background was created using the ink smooshing technique. This might be my favorite one of all…I love how it plays well with the background design that is already on the Concord & 9th papers!

sun-ink-smooshing-hello-card

Notice how the circle die has some designs cut out…there are many mix & match designs with this Everyday Circle die set! I love this one because it shows more of that amazing background. For the hello die (also part of this set), I cut it out of black foam and popped it up for that 3D effect.

Here’s a closer look:

sun-close-up-hello-pop-up

My last card features the confetti background from the Everyday Tintables Card Pack using Distress Oxide Ink. These inks also blend well on this card set. For this one I popped up a birthday ribbon for the birthday boy (or girl) to wear!

Sun-distress-oxide-happy-birthday

I stamped that Happy Birthday sentiment from the Everyday Greetings Stamp Set with Distress Oxide Inks and then clear embossed over the top. For the background I inked blended Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio, Salty Ocean, and a little of the Wilted Violet Distress Oxide inks. I added a few sequins to add to the confetti celebration feel.

I also used those striped dies with the circle and paper pieced one of each of the colors into the circle.

Oh, and the other great news is you can buy this Everyday Greetings stamp set, Everyday Circles Dies, and the Tintables Card Stack as a BUNDLE for a discounted rate! Click here for more information.

Affiliate links are used when possible with no additional cost to you.
