You are Loved

I’m so excited to finally get to play with my new Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. I thought I’d join along with the Concord & 9th Floral Challenge, and here is my take on the challenge:

you-are-loved

I love how these watercolor makers work on the Bristol Smooth paper using a water brush. I also used some new to me embossing powder called “Watering Can” from Ranger for the sentiment. Turns out, my striped paper matched the background color beautifully!

Hope you enjoyed my card. See you next time!

Celebration Cake!

Concord & 9th is celebrating big! And I was the lucky recipient of some giveaway goodies this month.

Another reason to celebrate: they now have a new Challenge Blog (Wherecreativitymeetsc9.com) started by the fabulous Jessica Frost-Ballas. So I thought I would play along in the very first challenge!

The theme is “Celebration.” Here is my celebration cake card for the occasion:

You guys, this cake from the Happy Day set is SO MUCH FUN to watercolor! I knew I wanted to use my very favorite colors (turquoise and yellow) on this card. And I wanted a chocolate cake. Yum. The frosting in between layers is sparkly (is there such thing as a sparkly frosting? I don’t know…but on MY cake there is!)

And I painted on the stripes using a new-to-me method I learned from my Instagram friend, Alba. (Thanks for the tip, friend!) I used a ruler and just painted on those stripes around the cake. (Awesome)!

I used my favorite Sophisticated Script set from Concord & 9th to spell “Enjoy.” I want to make about 100 of these cards in different colors. That’s how delighted I was at stamping and coloring this image.

Happy Birthday, Concord & 9th and Happy Celebration for the new challenge blog!

Beautiful

The current Ellen Hutson Mix It Up Challenge is with Concord & 9th! I am loving both these companies lately…and I have a few of their sets. So today I thought I’d see what I could come up with for this challenge.

I used the Beautiful die from Concord and 9th and the Bold Blooms stamp set from Essentials by Ellen.

I was also inspired by Jennifer McGuire to try heat embossing on water droplets!

Yeah, it’s a little crazy and organic, but I think it’s beautiful. Oh, I also silver embossed the sentiment about 3 times to get more dimension. It looks like a nice metal embellishment!

Entering the Ellen Hutson Mix it up Challenge. Thanks for visiting!
