Layering Stamp Ideas

Hello! Today I have a layering stamp set of Seahorses from the Hedgehog Hollow June 2019 kit.

There are so many beautiful beachy images in this kit: shells, coral, bubbles, fish, etc. But those seahorses really spoke to me! So that is what I used for my very first card make with this kit.

Multi-colored seahorses

I love layering stamps for adding easy color to my cards. Just choose some different shades of ink and start with the lightest color. Then add the darker color over the top for the second layer, and so on. If you don’t have multiple shades, then stamp the ink multiple times to get a darker shade!

I have a process video for you showing you some tips on making LOTS of seahorses for your cards that is oh-so-easy.

Watch it below or on YouTube:

I love using a stamping platform with a ruler for such easy placement and stamping the many layers! So easy and quick.

Those layers!! Solid bottom layer, Detailed second layer in a darker ink

I did fussy cut out these seahorses (above), but the image is easy enough to cut out.

Silver embossed edge

I’m often asked what products I used on my cards, so I’ve compiled a list for you using affiliate links when possible. When you purchase something using these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and bring you more fun projects! Thank you so very much!

I hope I inspired you to try this method on any of your layering stamps! Thanks for stopping by.

Floral Arranging with Stencils

Hello! I’m here with a card share and a PAPER flower arrangement using the new May 2019 Hedgehog Hollow Kit.

This kit is so full of beautiful florals, but I tried to focus and pick just one stamp to use with this card! Lol. I am also using the stencil in this kit to give the flowers in the jar look BIGGER and take up more space on the card.

See those stenciled leaves?

I’ve created a video for you to show just how fun this selective stenciling is, watch it below or on YouTube:

Here’s some close ups for you:

You know, I really DO think you are fabulous. Fabulous for stopping by, for saying hello, for giving me a thumbs up….for all or ANY of these things.

Have a fabulous day!

Watercolor Resist Technique

Hello! Today I have a favorite technique to share called watercolor resist. I am using some images and dies from the April 2019 Hedgehog Hollow Kit.

It’s a really easy technique, but can be quite an eye catcher!

First, I stamped the birdhouse onto some watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then I embossed it with some clear embossing powder.

Then, I used Gansai Tambi watercolors in rainbow colors on the first panel and overlapped them a little bit. The heat embossing resists that watercolor!

I die cut the panel down with a rectangle die cut. Then I cut the vines (also in the kit!) from the outer edges of the watercolor panel. No sense letting that beautiful color go to waste!

A Rainbow of Watercolor

To finish off this card, I used the polka dot paper from the Kit as a mat, and added a black frame. I popped up some birdies with 3M Foam tape and used some pearls for the final touch.

Green, blue, purple

I made another card using a cool color palate. The green polka dot paper was also included in the kit!

I hope you enjoyed this project! Visit the Hedgehog Hollow for more information about these card kits! Thanks for stopping by.
