Christmas Mermaids: Tags & Ornaments

Hello! Today I have some mermaid tags to share that double as ornaments! These Christmas Mermaids are so cute and perfect for the holidays.

I have a quick video to share how these are put together and how to make them sturdy for hanging on the tree. Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

On the back of the tags, I stamped the year and the names of the recipients. I used the large number stamp from Maker Forte…and began by stamping “021” on all of them. Then I removed the 2 and stamped it in the front to create “2021.”

I cut 3 tags for each ornament: one out of red cardstock, one out of white cardstock, and one out of chipboard to sandwich in the middle. This chipboard makes the whole tag very sturdy and ready for hanging on the tree!

I stamped the snowflake greeting with clear, sticky ink on the red cardstock. Then I heat embossed with white embossing powder.

Once I had colored and cut out all the mermaids, I attached them with foam tape for extra dimension.

I think they look pretty great on some packages!

I wanted to mention, this snowflake sentiment is also cute on it’s own as a tag…if you don’t want to add the mermaids.

And these mermaids also make a pretty sweet little card, too….here is one I stamped in a light ink and did some “no-line coloring.”

Have a mermazing Christmas!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Hope you enjoyed these projects! Have a mermazing Christmas!

Mermaid Kit for Summer

Hello! Today I am sharing a brand new Mermaid Kit just in time for summer! This is the first time I have ever tried out one of these kits from Not 2 Shabby Shop, and I have to say that I’m so happy with it. I have a reveal video of everything in the kit and FIVE cards to share today!

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I sat down with this kit and made FIVE cards right away. I had way too much fun and just couldn’t stop! This first card is using the ephemera in the kit (no coloring involved!) and some of the patterned paper from the kit. There are both slimline papers and 6×6 papers. I also added a bunch of the sequins that are included, for a very easy card!

This second card, I stamped the image this time and colored it with my copics. I love that you have the option for stamping or using ephemera! This patterned paper was some of my favorite.

The Narwhal in the stamp set is so cute, and it made me smile every time! I just had to use that on this card. I created some backgrounds with some new ink colors from Catherine Pooler and they have such fun movement to them.

Probably my favorite sentiment is this one: “Magic is all around, you just have to believe.” It’s a really fun design, and I used this sentiment stamp along with the beta fish for some magic on this card. Can you see the glitter I added to his tail?

The seahorses were also a favorite and how great is it that they have the mirror image so you can face them towards each other?! I love that. I made just a simple card with these guys, and added a “Hugs and Fishes” sentiment strip to finish it off.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoyed this look at the Mermaid Kit! I hear these kits sell out fast, so if you are interested, go take a look right away. I still have so many ideas and cards to make with this kit…and I think this could keep me busy all summer. Lol. Happy summer!

Mermaids at Sunset

Hello! Today I have a mermaid card to share because I have been thinking about the BEACH! My favorite place to watch for mermaids is on the beach at sunset (that’s the best time, right?)

I made a video to show you the easy techniques for making that ocean and the sunset backdrop…and how to make real looking sand! And see how her tail just shimmers in that evening sun?! That’s a new favorite product of mine! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

Spectacular Shakers

It’s Day 3 of MFT Camp Create and that means SHAKER CARDS! I love shaker cards and this time I inked up those mermaids with Copics. I forgot just how much I enjoy coloring mermaids!

I tried a new way to color up their tails and I like how it turned out…gives quite a bit of texture. For the background of this card, I used an MFT stencil to ink on some Distress Oxides in mermaid colors. Then I used some Glitter embossing powder over the entire panel! Can you see that glitter?

Glittery goodness!

Those shaker pieces are so much fun (from Trinity Stamps!) and I love the shine they have. Perfect for a shaker mermaid card!

Here’s the badge I earned for today:

I hope you enjoyed this shaker mermaid card today!
