Patterned Paper plus a Peony

Hello! I love it when you find good patterned paper that make it so easy to create a card! Today I have a beautiful card to share using patterned paper from Maker Forte (designed by Alex Syberia).

I first found a black and white paper with words on it. When you look and highlight a few of the words, it says “You are Amazing!” Love it. Then I found a complimentary patterned paper from the same set with purples and oranges. I cut a smaller strip of this paper to put on as a band.

This inspired the color palette for the peony! This paper pack has so many bright and vivid papers in it. They are fun to mix and match.

I colored up the peony with Copic markers using: YR15, R21, E01.
These are colors I just plucked out of my markers and made them work together to create a peachy-orange color.

Coloring this flower was the longest part of this entire card. Once I was finished coloring the flower, I added some Dark Brown colored pencils in the “Nooks & Crannies.”

For some extra interest, I added some yellow Liquid Pearls to the center of the flower. These will dry raised and add a tactile element to the card.

Santa Claus is coming to Town

Hello! It’s THE week…the week that Santa Claus is coming to town! So today I have a special Santa Sleigh card, using TWO stencils that fit together perfectly! These are from Maker Forte and they are a dream to work with.

I started with Perfect Blend paper because it’s so smooth and makes it SO easy to ink blend. I added some Kaleidoscope powders in the new colors Yellowstone & Asteroid. These look so awesome and dreamy!

Check out the short video below, or in HD on YouTube to see how this all comes together:

Just look how that powder shines on this card:

Santa’s Sleigh

Hello! Today I have a fun card with the Sleigh Bouquet stamp set designed by Alex Syberia. This is a beautiful set and I loved working with it. I started with a watercolored background.

Then I stamped the sleigh TWICE. The first image I colored up with Copics. The second image I colored only the poinsettia and Fussy cut it out. I added it to the sleigh with foam tape to give it more dimension.

I positioned the sleigh and the presents on the background to make it look like the presents were falling out of the sleigh.

That sentiment was stamped on white cardstock that I colored with a matching green Copic marker. If you don’t have matching cardstock, it’s a great trick to get the shade you are looking for!
