Dreams are Magic

Hello! Today I have a fun card to share, with a new technique too! This is using the Hedgehog Hollow Kit from March. There are some truly magical stamps in this Kit.

I’m sharing ALL the details of how to make this card over at The Hedgehog Hollow blog HERE. I’m using a gel press and some Perfect Blend paper to create this magical background.

If you haven’t tried this paper, you might fall in love like I did…it’s so smooth and easy to blend ink on. And it also works SO WELL for techniques like this!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Combining Stamps to Create a Geometric Background

Hello, friends! I am excited to bring you this card today, using a few stamps from the Hedgehog Hollow January Kit. This kit is full of stars, moons, and sunbursts and I was so inspired by it!

So today, I am taking 3 of the stamps from the “Given Direction” set (the one with all the stars) and stamping them inside of each other to get this fabulous geometric look! (you can see a bit of the stamp set I chose in the photo below)

I had a lot of fun stamping this background, and I began using my MISTI for the largest stamp. Then when I went to stamp the smaller stamp, I quickly changed to an acrylic block to get it done faster! I used the acrylic block to stamp the smallest stamp in the middle as well.

I have a video to show you how this card came together, watch it below or on YouTube:

After I finished all the stamping, I let this panel dry for quite a while because I used black pigment ink and I didn’t want it to smear when I inked on the color.

I chose the beautiful Catherine Pooler inks for the colors, and I used a makeup brush to blend. Well, I also used one stencil brush (LOL)…and you will see why if you watch the video!

These inks blended so well! I loved the sentiment from the kit that says “Next time you think of beautiful things, don’t forget to count yourself in”…so I stamped that on a sentiment strip as wide as the card panel itself. Then I added the die cut “beautiful YOU” (from my stash). I cut it out from white cardstock, added a black shadow, and then mounted it all onto fun foam before adhering it to the card.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoyed this colorful project today! I know I loved creating it. If you haven’t picked up a January 2020 Kit, what are you waiting for? It might be my favorite of all!

I’ll see you soon with more card inspiration!

Monochromatic Stamping with silver embossing

Hello! Today I’m sharing a card using the new May 2019 Hedgehog Hollow Kit. This kit is full of florals designed by Sophia Caldwell and they are beautiful!

I really wanted to use the floral bouquet to make a monochromatic card. I chose the coral colored cardstock in the kit, then stamped the bouquet with a matching ink. I used Catherine Pooler’s Coral Cabana ink and it stamped this detailed image beautifully!

I took that coral cardstock and dry embossed it with an embossing folder (a new one that I just love!) Then I added a black strip of paper over a black/white striped paper.

There are many chipboard words included in this kit and I took the “Hugs” and heat embossed over it with silver embossing powder. I love how it looks like a metal embellishment!

Silver embossing powder over chipboard piece

This May 2019 kit is amazing and FULL of floral stamp sets (3), a stencil, and chipboard pieces as well as cardstock and envelopes! I was really “wow-ed” with all that came in this kit. If you haven’t seen everything included, check out my unveiling video below or on YouTube:

I hope you enjoyed this fun project today. I just think coral and black are striking together!

Thanks for stopping by! Hugs to you!

Watercolor Resist Technique

Hello! Today I have a favorite technique to share called watercolor resist. I am using some images and dies from the April 2019 Hedgehog Hollow Kit.

It’s a really easy technique, but can be quite an eye catcher!

First, I stamped the birdhouse onto some watercolor paper using Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then I embossed it with some clear embossing powder.

Then, I used Gansai Tambi watercolors in rainbow colors on the first panel and overlapped them a little bit. The heat embossing resists that watercolor!

I die cut the panel down with a rectangle die cut. Then I cut the vines (also in the kit!) from the outer edges of the watercolor panel. No sense letting that beautiful color go to waste!

A Rainbow of Watercolor

To finish off this card, I used the polka dot paper from the Kit as a mat, and added a black frame. I popped up some birdies with 3M Foam tape and used some pearls for the final touch.

Green, blue, purple

I made another card using a cool color palate. The green polka dot paper was also included in the kit!

I hope you enjoyed this project! Visit the Hedgehog Hollow for more information about these card kits! Thanks for stopping by.

Sequin Sublimation

Hello! I have one more project to share using the Artesprix Heat Transfer Markers that came in the Hedgehog Hollow March 2019 kit.

This was a fun one! I just could not wait to try sublimating on sequins!! So I found these pouches and gave it a try.

Check out my video below or on YouTube to see how to do this:

Now, who would’ve thought you could use these markers to heat transfer onto sequins!?!

Will it sublimate?

It worked! And I was surprised and delighted! For the instruction, be sure to watch the video posted above.

If you are interested in the pouches I used, find them here. You can get these markers from The Hedgehog Hollow (in the March 2019 kit).
