Foiled Background

I love a good foiled background! Today I have a tone-on-tone card to share with you using a favorite stamp set from the last Maker Forte Release.

[Note: I’m sharing all the details HERE at the Maker Forte blog if you want more detailed information on creating this card.]

Those lantern images come from the Christmas at the Cabin stamp set…this set has so many cute images to put together! I paired it with the Christmas naturally stencil to create that foiled background. (LOVE this stencil!)

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. Musical Card with Ephemera

Hello! Today I have a quick card using the Hedgehog Hollow Musical Kit from May. I show you in my video how to use the ephemera packs for foiling and not wasting a bit of that foil!

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I have to admit, I did NOT understand how this ephemera worked at first. One of the packages of ephemera is just all black…and how in the world does that make sense?! Well, I finally got it! And it’s so so cool.

See how the piano is black, but has periwinkle foil all around the outside?! Well, that’s the secret! It uses the “leftover” foil so you have no waste. It’s brilliant! Be sure to watch the video to see the magic.

To make this card, I first stamped the background stamp twice to fill an A2 panel. Then I foiled the ephemera (both parts of it).

Next, I white heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and matted it with Lavender cardstock. I added a rainbow frame, glued down the sentiment and popped up the ephemera with foam tape.

How beautiful is that rainbow foiled musical notes piece?!? I love it. This is a simple card made SO easy and SO glamorous with that foilable ephemera.

Hedgehog Hollow May Kit: Golden Piano & Rainbow Keys

Hello! Today I have a reveal of the Hedgehog Hollow May Kit and a card! This kit is full of musical instruments with stencils, stamps, and ephemera that can be foiled. It’s a beautiful mix and there’s so much you can do!

I have a video sharing everything that comes in the kit, and making a card using the piano keys stencil, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I couldn’t wait to use that piano keys stencil! It’s a fun one, but does need a bit of Pixie Spray (or removable adhesive spray) to keep it in place while you ink blend.

Does anyone else like a Golden piano with rainbow keys?! I thought this card would be a lot more colorful if I took some creative liberties with my colors. Lol. And it sure is fun (and different)!

Hope you enjoyed this one! See you soon with more cards!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Shamrock Stencil

Hello! Today I have a fun Shamrock Stencil to share, along with a bunch of cards using it. I’m creating with foil, glitter, and ink blending (oh my)! Not to mention, I share the fastest, easiest watercolor technique.

It’s all in the video below, or watch it in HD on YouTube:

I loved creating with this stencil. Lately, I’ve just been making so many cards with the same supplies. If you’ve been watching my videos, you might have noticed that trend: lots of cards in every video! But I love creating cards, and trying to make many ideas with one set of tools.

I think this glittered background is my favorite of the bunch…I love glittery, shiny cards. 🙂

But this one is a close second! I love the look of Kaleidoscope Powder on a dark background. Look how shiny and shimmery they are! This one uses two colors: Neptune and Limewired. I show you how to use it in my video.

Of course, I love an ink blended background and this Perfect Blend paper makes it SO easy!

A little foiled sentiment is always welcome, too! Or even a foiled background, like in the next two cards:

How cute is that little mouse? All these images are watercolored with Zigs, and I share how easy it is in my video, too.

I hope you enjoyed these bright, rainbow, glittery, and inked cards today! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
