Craft Organization: Alcohol Ink Swatches

Hello! Today I have a new craft organization video for you all about alcohol ink swatches.

It’s been a while since I’ve shared craft organization videos, and it’s past due! I was working on catching up on swatching my alcohol inks, so I thought I’d share it with you.

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

In my video I share the paper I use for swatching and why, as well as other supplies and my favorite practices.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoy this short video of crafty organizing! Thanks for stopping by.

Craft Room Organization: Paper Scraps

Hello! Today I am sharing my original plan for storing paper scraps and why it didn’t work!! If you ever save scraps of paper for your cards or scrapbooks, you are going to want to watch this!

See the video below or watch it in HD on YouTube:

I always wanted a drawer set aside for scrap paper. I was in absolute heaven when I finally had the space to have this EXTRA drawer. I thought it was the best thing ever! I could just throw all my scrap paper in this drawer and have it ready and on hand when I needed it.

For a while, it was a dream. Until it got a little out of hand…

After a short while, the drawer got filled up, and overflowing so that it became hard to even close the drawer without paper falling out. It got so bad, that one day I decided this was NOT THE WAY!!

So I took the larger pieces of paper and cut them into card-size pieces (4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″). The rest of the smaller paper I made into piles of color families.

I now have a good size collection of patterned paper for cards. And I keep them at the top of my desk for ready access.

As for the scraps, threw away quite a bit. But I do like to keep scraps for easy die cutting (especially for my favorite layering flower die cuts)!

Watch the video to see how I keep it ready and organized now!! It’s my new favorite system. I love the change and now I have an empty drawer to organize my next obsession…which I will share very soon!

Thanks for stopping by! How do you keep your scraps organized?

Ink Blended Tags for Inspiration

Hello! Today I’m up on The Hedgehog Hollow blog here to share these Ink Blended tags for Inspiration.

I love how these turned out! I used the quiet, unassuming line stamp in the lower left corner of this stamp set from the Hedgehog Hollow May 2020 Kit.

Check out my video for all the details, and a SECRET for getting almost any ink combination to blend well. Watch below or in HD on YouTube:

For all the ink combinations I used, head on over to The Hedgehog Hollow.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Here’s one of the backgrounds I created inspired by one of the tags…I can’t decide if it should be a vertical or landscape card! lol. So I haven’t attached the hello sentiment until I can decide.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed the May kit this year…it’s already sold out, it has been so popular.

See you next time!

Craft Studio Organization: Embossing Powders

Hello! Today I have the second edition of Craft Studio Organization ideas with Embossing Powders. I’m up on The Hedgehog Hollow Blog today with all the details, but I’m going to share a ton of pictures here and a video.

I was excited to get this done, and I have to admit, once I finished this organization project, I left this drawer open just so I could look at it all day! Lol.

BEFORE
AFTER

I have a video showing you all the details and a few tricks I learned along the way, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I also made a card using embossing powders and matching inks. It was so easy with the ink swatching I did last week!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! I’lll be back soon with more organization ideas.

Craft Room Organization: Ink Swatch Book

Hello again! I’m starting off May with some craft room organization using some products with the May 2020 Hedgehog Hollow kit. Today it’s an ink swatch book and I have lots of ideas for you!

These colors have me feeling HAPPY! I used the smaller stars stamp from the stamp set included in the May 2020 Kit for the Distress Oxides. For the Distress Inks, I used the STENCIL to ink the colors on (since I normally don’t stamp with Distress Inks…I use them for techniques and stencils).

I have a video with some tools and tips for you, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I love some good organization! I have to give a standing ovation to Jennifer McGuire for putting together all these 2×2 ink charts with LOTS of inks. She even includes a blank one so you can fill in your own inks, too!

I got the 3 colors charts from Ranger and Scrapbook.com and if you are interested you can find them here:

Distress Ink & Oxide Charts: https://bit.ly/3d4ZoDb

For the Altenew inks, I stamped a flower with all the layering colors to see what they look like together.

Watch the video for all the details here.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoyed this today! I am so happy seeing all these colors together.

So have you done ink swatching in your craft room? I’ll be back real soon with more organizing ideas!
