A Look back at the October Release with Our Daily Bread Designs

Hello! I hope you’ve had a chance to see the entire October Release from Our Daily Bread Designs, because it is fabulous! Today I’m sharing two cards using some of the products.

First I had to create a card front using the beautiful Bethlehem dies set.

I used the Pierced Ovals dies to create the frame and inked it up slightly with Cracked Pistachio Distress Oxide ink. I heat embossed the back layer of the building tops with copper embossing powder before adding them to the kraft background. The trees are colored with copics. Isn’t this a beautiful scene?

To finish it all off, I added the Merry Christmas Caps die at the top.

Here’s a look at the inside of the card, where I stamped a sentiment from the Christmas Card Scriptures Stamp set:

This sentiment is such a beautiful way to say Merry Christmas!

My next project features the Diorama with Layers set. This is another new favorite of mine and this time I’ve paired the Brick Gate Border with the Neighborhood Border die.

Look at that sweet little neighborhood! I’ve added some chunky glitter to the rooftops to add a snowy feeling. The paper is from this set. The Pinecones Dies and Pine Branches Dies are must-haves, in my opinion!

The Brick Gate Border offers a way to ink up those bricks through the die when you leave it on the die cut piece! (That’s how I got all those individual grey bricks).

I hope you enjoyed these projects today and got inspired.

Snowflakes!

This card is for the Holiday Online Card Class soft and subtle cards.

I used distress inks as watercolor (that twisted citron is a new favorite) behind those snowflakes. That snowflake die is from Simon Says Stamp “Eliza” and it’s one of my favorites, too!

I used some glitter embossing powder on the snowflake and it looks so pretty, don’t you think?

That sentiment is from Mama Elephant. Such a pretty font! I hope you enjoy this card.

Tis the Season to be Jolly

Well, this card was a bunch of firsts for me. A first with all that masking (thanks to Laura Bassen), and a first using EMBOSSING PASTE!! Wow. I might just be addicted to adding embossing paste. I need to play with this more.

gnome-1

Isn’t this card fun? I used the gnome from Paper Smooches and some gifts from another Paper Smooches stamp set. The gnome and all those presents had to be masked first before I stamped another one. I thought this gnome was a Santa look-alike.

gnome-2

See the snow there…that’s the embossing paste. It’s actually Ferro in the color “Pearl” because I don’t actually own any white embossing paste yet. Isn’t that funny? I have some silver and gold to play with and haven’t used those yet, either. Next time.

Here you can see the shine from the pearl snow! And I added some stickles glitter to those gifts…in both platinum and gun smoke. I love a glittery bow.
You can also see a bit of Wink of Stella added to his beard.

But you want to know the best part? I took this picture at night in my new light studio box!! Yeow…that looks so bright and light! I think I’m going to have fun with this new present (it’s for Christmas, but I was forced to open it early! Lol.)

This is such a fun card class…see you with another card tomorrow!

A Very Happy Christmas (with glitter)

One more glitter card because I just could not stop! I love this background die from My Favorite Things, and it’s so fun using glitter paper with that die.

That word die “Christmas” is embossed with glitter powder on the bottom and watercolored with distress inks on the top.

This card was easy and a whole lot of fun to put together!

Merry & Bright

I love glitter paper. Yep. I have a whole drawer just dedicated to glitter paper. So when the Holiday Card Class had a day devoted to shimmer and shine, I brought out the glitter!

See that red glitter ampersand? It’s my favorite.
I played around with some distress markers for the merry word and bright word. It’s fun to try and blend two different colors. I added some glossy accents for shine. A few sequins and done!

So. Fun. And merry. (and bright). 🙂
