How I Copic Color Ghosts…and the October Box Reveal!

Hello! When you think of coloring ghosts, do they rank right up there with panda bears, penguins and polar bears?! Right…they are white (or clear) so they should be so easy to color!

Today I am going to share with you my very favorite…and easy….color combinations for coloring ghosts!

All the products I use today are from the October 2018 Hedgehog Hollow box, and those ghost images are an exclusive set created by the Ink Road Stamps! The ribbon, Nuvo drops, and little spider brad also come in the box!

Can you see a difference in the way they are colored? I used a different combination for each so they would each have their own look. Subtle, yes…but in real life so effective!

For that first little ghost I used these Copic colors in this order: B0000, BV00, B000. These add a slight purple/blue undertone. Then I went over all of those colors with E40.

For the ghost in the middle, I used Cool Grays in C00, C1, C3. I first went over the ghost with the C00 where I thought the shadows would be. Then I used the darkest C3 over that, blended out with the C1 and back to the C00 to smooth it all out.

The last ghost is colored up with Warm Grays: W00, W1, W3. I used the same method as above for this cutie with a mustache!

For the envelope, I simply stamped one of the ghosts and the “boo” (using Staz On ink…this envelope is a little slick so I didn’t want that ink to smear!)

I colored it using prismacolored pencils and burnished it a little with a blending stump to smooth it out.

Musical Piano cards

Hello there! Today I have some fun Musical Piano cards for you. I cannot get enough of this Piano Die from Our Daily Bread Designs.

I’ve already shared some black glossy piano cards, so today I thought I’d share some other colors. First up is this cream piano, complete with a saxophone accompaniment!

I gold embossed that saxophone on the piano and added some musical notes. To add more color, I ink blended the background with Distress Oxide over this music stamp.

Next, I have this wood grain piano with lots of colors!

sunshine-dreamy-piano

This is such a fun set…can you imagine what colors of pianos you can make?! I saw a beautiful powder blue piano on google, and even a RED piano! And some with rainbow colored piano keys!

For some small cards, I cut down some cards to a square 4 1/4″ and just used the keyboards on these.

But even though I didn’t use the top portion (lid) of the grand piano die….I still used it as a STENCIL to get those great lines on the cards! Check out this short video I posted on Instagram to see what I mean here.

I hope you enjoyed these projects today. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Watercolor Pens with the Bountiful Blooms set

Hello! Today I’m sharing a project on the Hedgehog Hollow blog that is rather unusual for me. I’m creating a messy watercolor look using the Watercolor Pens and the Bountiful Blooms set from the September Hedgehog Hollow Box. Here’s a sneak peek:

I used all four colors included in the set and a watercolor brush to move that color around, but you could just as easily use a small paintbrush and a little bit of water.

All the details and the VIDEO tutorial are up on the Hedgehog Hollow blog here. So click now to check out just how easy this card style can be!

Thanks for stopping by!

You are the Pot of Gold at the end of my Rainbow

Hello! Today I have two sweet cards to share using the Ric Rac Die from Sunny Studio Stamps (exclusive to the Hedgehog Hollow July Subscription box).

I’ve had so much fun with this July release, and today I want to show you a few creative ways to use these products.

The first card is this Pot of Gold shaker card where I used the ric rac die as a scenery backdrop:

I made this into a shaker card and added gold sequins…I thought it was completely appropriate with that sentiment! I did shape the sentiment to fit around the circle using my Misti.

You may recognize that little girl as the innertube girl…she did not have legs!

Yes, I did a little “paper surgery” and drew her a skirt, cut off the innertube, and used the legs from the other girl image to let her stand!! Hooray! I think she turned out cute. And I only feel a little bit bad about cutting the legs off the other stamped image (ugh!) But it was worth it to get this cutie!

She also had goggles on her head, so I colored over them to create a black “headband” and added a flower. Then I gave her a denim skirt and matched the yellow of her shirt to the rainbow sentiment.

I was going to add some shoes on her…but I chickened out! Hey, you can only do so much, you know what I mean?! Lol.

My second card is a card where I used the ric rac border dies as a MASK to make a beautiful sunset and ocean scene.

The glitter of the Nuvo Glitter Accents is a dreamy copper color! I thought it would look fun as a shimmery sand beach in the sunset.

I have a video showing how I made this one, watch it here or on YouTube:

I hope you enjoyed these projects today. I had a blast, and I will have a few more to share with you throughout the month!

If you have any questions about the subscription boxes, visit The Hedgehog Hollow. I think you will be pleasantly surprised at these boxes and content. I love that she changes up the companies and stamps/dies that come each month. And U.S. shipping is only $3.99…still don’t know how she does it!

See you next time!

Follow Your Rainbow

Hello! Today I’m sharing a project with the brand new July Subscription box from The Hedgehog Hollow! I love this month’s box, it’s filled with cuties from Sunny Studios Stamps. If you didn’t see the unboxing video showing everything included in this month’s box, see below to view it!

Here’s my project using some of the bright rainbow paper, the cute stamps of the little swimmers and the rainbow die.

Notice the swim suit on the girl in the intertube…I paper pieced her pink suit with paper in the kit. I colored up the rainbow die with copics in a rainbow of colors. And the “foam” from the waves is made with chunky glitter.
