Earth Day: You Mean the World

Hello! Today I’m so excited to share a new card and video featuring the Bunny & Bear: The World stamp set from Miss Ink Stamps. You know I love the Bunny & Bear collection, and this stamp is so sweet! It’s perfect for the upcoming Earth Day on April 22nd.

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I have to say, I was impressed with the Distress Watercolor pencils, they feel substantial in my hand and they are so creamy and easy to blend. I share some of my tips for using them in the video.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I used a favorite shortcut for the background watercolor design: patterned paper! Lol. I had this particular paper in my stash and it was begging to be used on this project. I do love how it turned out.

I hope you love this sweet card as much as I do! I’ll be back with more cards to share soon. Happy Earth Day!

A Bear, a Hedgehog, and a Broom

Hello! Today I have a new card with a Bear, a Hedgehog and a Broom as a part of my Halloween Card Series. You KNOW I just HAD to make a bear witch! (I love bears)!

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

Of course I had to use all the critters in this die set, so I made a Bear and a hedgehog card and then I made a bonus fox card!

I just adore these critters! Watch the video to see some easy ways to color up the die cut critters with inks (and a touch of Copic markers).

I love the silver spider web embossed in the background. Each of these characters can hold something in their hands (I love a die with such a great detail)…so I put the broom in the bear’s hands, and a mini pumpkin in the hedgehog’s hands.

I started out with colored cardstock for their witches hats and added detail with ink! It’s easy when you have a beveled brush.

Once I finished this card, I felt like that fox was left out….so I made a bonus card!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Thanks for stopping by today! I just love a critter card!

How to make an Easel Card

When I first saw this stamp set I FELL IN LOVE! First of all…because of the bears (you know I love bears…they were my Dad’s favorite!) and then because of the Camper! So cute. These stamps are from a BRAND NEW Stamp Company! (Check them out here.)

**This is my second blog post for today….scroll down to see my other blog post featuring To A Friend stamp set (with the big summer hat!)

I knew that I wanted to make an Easel Card first of all! So today, I have a video sharing how to make two cards, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

Easel Card closed
Easel card tented open
I decided to add some BEES!

This is a very easy tent card to make…and I am so happy to share how to make it in my video. It’s SO much easier to describe in a video than in words here on my blog…so don’t miss this video!

This bear is so sleepy after his adventurous day! Isn’t this a fun card…that bear really makes me smile!

I highly recommend checking out this new Stamp Company!

Breathe, Brave Bear Art Journal and Card

Hello! Today I am (finally) sharing my One Little Word of the year, and creating an Art Journal and Card. I share my Brave Bear art here, which is very meaningful to me. Bears are my father’s favorite, and I lost him just after Christmas.

Please watch the video below, or in HD on YouTube for all the details of putting these projects together:

I wasn’t sure what I was going to put onto my art journal, UNTIL I was creating a card with my ONE WORD, and this song came on. I paused and listened to the words. And that’s when I knew these words were PERFECT!!

I love how we get signs and promptings to help us when we need it. And I truly believe these were brought to my attention at just the right time.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Bear Cards for Dad

Hello. Today I have a different kind of post and it’s all about creating Bear Cards for Dad. You might know that my Dad passed away the day after Christmas (December 26th). I have started a project to assist in healing to create 74 bear cards for him…one for each year he has been on Earth.

If you would like to help me get this done…I would love it! Just create a bear card and post a photo on Instagram using the hashtag: #bearcardsfordad
Tag me @kariavan so I can see and smile.

Here’s my projects for today, a bear card for Dad AND an art journal page:

I have a video explaining it all, watch it here or in HD on YouTube. But warning, it is a little emotional!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Thanks for stopping by. And GIANT THANKS if you can help make a bear card!
