It’s All About the Background

Hello! Today I have a different kind of card to share…instead of a focal point, it’s all about the background! I have three cards to share with fun and easy backgrounds.

I have a video sharing all the details of how to make these stunning backgrounds (and they are so easy!) Watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

Sometimes you can find some paper that is just that gorgeous. Two of my cards today use paper that are just that!

This background speaks for itself!! It looks like poured paint…something that would be difficult for me to create on a card panel myself. I didn’t alter this background in any way…and it still is the main element!

This card uses a stunning paper pack as well, but this time I used an embossing folder on it, too! It really steps up the background. All that is needed to complete this card is a sentiment and some gems!

My last card uses a stencil together with an embossing folder. I really love the layered look here…and it was also very simple!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I really love this layering stencil and this layering die together! I switched the colors to create the Periwinkle on the BACKGROUND and the additional grey color on the FOCAL FLOWER.

Purple, Grey, and Gold are really spectacular when you put them together!

I added some gold sparkle to the background and I show you how to do it in my video! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

SUNSHINE-all-4-love-letters-cards

Love Letters

Hello! Today I have some love letters to share, with some of my favorite dies! These little envelopes are so fun to create with and they are perfect for some Valentines.

Today I am creating alcohol ink panels (that are super easy and stress-free!) for die cutting some of the images. This creates a fun look…

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I also pulled together some patterned paper for some of the elements. When you put them all together, they create the sweetest little Valentine cards.

For this card, I used the purple inked panel to die cut the Kisses sentiment and the hearts. Some patterned paper makes a cute envelope…I used some vellum on the inside of an envelope to soften the pattern.

The background is made with the dotted cover die that I inked with a pink ink. (See the video for the details).

This one uses the same design…just mixing up the colors. The envelope is die cut with an inked panel, and the sentiment and hearts are cut from black cardstock.

For this one, I mixed it up even more! Bringing in a Mega Love die that I cut from an alcohol inked background. I love the bold sentiment on a woodgrain background (this paper is from my stash and probably years and years old).

This last one uses Rose Gold mirror card for the envelope (oh la la!) with a patterned paper background. I die cut some Xs and Os and built them up with many layers.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today!
