Removable Butterfly card

Hello! Today I am excited to share these cards that have been in my head for a long time…including a removable butterfly on a card!

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I love this large butterfly die, and I previously did a video using it on some other cards, including a shaped card. But today, I have three more ideas for it. When you purchase a die set, you definitely want to get as much bang for your buck as possible!

Card 1: Large Shaker

This first card is a 5×7 size…larger than I normally make. I wanted to be able to capture that entire butterfly on a card and turn it into a shaker!

I first inked the background in a rainbow of colors, then I used both the background die and the detail die to cut out the butterfly. Then I added some acetate and some Sparkle Mix to make a fantastic shaker!

Card 2: Shaker tag

For the second shaker, I wanted the embellishments to shake in each detail piece, instead of the entire butterfly background. So I cut out four of the detail pieces and layered them up.

I added the shaker beads, then the black topper with acetate.

Card 3: Magnetic Butterfly

This last card may be my favorite…and I have been thinking about it for so long! I first inked up the background with a stencil.

This time I used gold foil paper for the detail on the butterfly. I added a small button magnet on the back of the butterfly and the card panel. It’s so fun to be able to remove that butterfly! You can use it on your refrigerator or a white board.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Hope you enjoyed these projects today! Thanks for stopping by!
