Springtime Gnomes

Hello! Today I have a sweet Spring card to share with the *New Springtime Gnomes set from Maker Forte. This set has so many awesome Gnome images with eggs and spring characters! Today I chose the Bunny Gnome and paired it with some great patterned paper designed by Alex Syberia.

I thought those big white flowers looked a little like billowy clouds! So I loved it with this scene. I cut the paper down to A2 size (4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″). Then I stamped and colored the gnome with spring colors of Copic Markers.

The sentiment strip is from the Friendship Simple Sayings set. I cut it down to size and colored it with a purple Distress Ink to match the polka dots on the egg. I added a silver glitter paper just beneath the sentiment.

How cute is that little chick?! I added some die-cut grass and then popped up the gnome on top with foam tape.

To finish it off, I added a little Unicorn Stickles to the “clouds.” Then I put it all onto a heavy weight top-folding card base.

Breathe, Brave Bear Art Journal and Card

Hello! Today I am (finally) sharing my One Little Word of the year, and creating an Art Journal and Card. I share my Brave Bear art here, which is very meaningful to me. Bears are my father’s favorite, and I lost him just after Christmas.

Please watch the video below, or in HD on YouTube for all the details of putting these projects together:

I wasn’t sure what I was going to put onto my art journal, UNTIL I was creating a card with my ONE WORD, and this song came on. I paused and listened to the words. And that’s when I knew these words were PERFECT!!

I love how we get signs and promptings to help us when we need it. And I truly believe these were brought to my attention at just the right time.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Pawprint Background

Hello! Today I’m so happy to be sharing another pet card using the Hedgehog Hollow February Kit. There are so many great stamps in this kit, and that large pawprint jumped out at me to make a background!

I started with the large pawprint with a heart in the middle and stamped it with a very light amalgam ink. I wanted a subtle background for this card, but it would also be fun in bright colors!

I colored in the heart in the center of the pawprint with a light pink Copic marker and covered it in my favorite Stardust Stickles for some sparkle! (I left the bottom right pawprint uncolored so I could stamp the sentiment).

For the sentiment, I chose a dark green ink to match the hat. I love how these play off each other.

I positioned the dog under the hat and drew in some “SHADOWS” by using some cool grey Copic Markers in curves underneath. It may already look like there’s a shadow there, but I did draw some in!

Then I attached the dog under hat using some foam tape. I added it all to a heavy weight card base and VOILA! Done!

I loved creating this card. I hope you love it, too!

Always Stay Humble

Hello! Today I have a couple sweet cards to share using the new set from the Cultured Collection at Maker Forte. These stamps are so awesome, I just added some inked backgrounds and let the stamps SHINE!

CARD 1

For the first card, I inked up the background with various blues and green Distress Oxide inks. Once the background was completely dry, I stamped the world stamp over the top in black and clear heat embossed that.

I stamped and fussy cut the hands and added it with foam tape over the center of the world. For some sparkle, I used Stardust Stickles in the center of the hands where they form a heart. I added a metallic heart to finish it off.

CARD 2

For this card, I did a gradient of Distress Oxides in the background. Then I stamped the “Always Stay Humble and Kind” stamp. I love this stamp! I decided to keep this one super simple and finished it off with star confetti.

Isn’t this stamp beautiful?! Be sure to check out this stamp set HERE.

I’ll see you soon!

Valentine Corner Cafe

Hello, today I am creating a scene…. on a card! I had an idea to create a little Valentine Corner Cafe using dreamy magentas and greys. This would be a little Corner Cafe you would love to visit, and it’s especially cute just in time for Valentine’s Day!

I’m using fun techniques to get some 3D detail; like: heat embossing, foam tape, and 3D coloring. Watch all the details at the video below or in HD on YouTube:

Isn’t this the cutest Corner Cafe? I’m imagining you can get coffee, crepes, hot cocoa, and smoothies there! What about cute little sandwiches, too?
