Fairy Cards with Gel Press Backgrounds

Hello! Today I’m up on the Hedgehog Hollow blog again sharing some Fairy Cards with Gel Press Backgrounds. I share the details over there, but I do have a video showing all the details!

This is a fun layering process to these cards, watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I hope you will take a look! I love adding multiple layers to a card when it makes sense. These techniques all lend themselves well to a fairy card.

Since I was already doing a gel press technique, I went ahead and took an extra pull for the second card. I LOVE the soft look!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Spring Birdhouses

Hello! I’m so happy to share these Spring Birdhouses with you today. These can be made into slimline cards OR Pop-up cards and I’m going to show you how easy they are to make! Of course, once I started making them I just had to make a rainbow of birdhouses. (That’s the logical thing to do, right?!)

I have a video showing how to put these together and how to make both the card AND Pop-up card. I love them both…and you can stand them up to make a Spring decor piece, too! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

For most of these birdhouses, I used the Woodgrain die cut…but sometimes I only EMBOSSED that woodgrain into the paper. It really creates a great look and it’s a bit of a variation from the die cut itself.

See that woodgrain embossed on this purple card? It is my new favorite background! I added some Layered Daisies dies on this one and the You Are Beautiful medallion, which is an incentive die when you purchase a qualifying amount at the Scrappy Tails shop.

The Mother’s Day sentiment dies are also among my favorites and I used them on these cards:

Left to right: embossed woodgrain background, White woodgrain die on cream cardstock, kraft woodgrain die on cream cardstock.

I love all the variety you can get with these Birdhouses and the Woodgrain background. Imagine all the colors you could die cut these from, OR emboss multiple colors of cardstock! I just couldn’t stop with these birdhouses!

The hummingbirds are from the Mama Birds Stamp set, and the other colorful birds are from the Spring Birds stamp set. I’ve listed and linked them all below if you want to check them out.

All the flowers used in all these cards are from the Layered Daisies dies. I love these because there are such a variety of flowers. You get some front facing flowers like the ones on the pink card, and some reaching up to the sun like the ones on the orange card! So many to choose from.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! I sure loved making them. Check out the video for more details on how to put these together and make them stand up! Thanks for stopping by.

Dreams are Magic

Hello! Today I have a fun card to share, with a new technique too! This is using the Hedgehog Hollow Kit from March. There are some truly magical stamps in this Kit.

I’m sharing ALL the details of how to make this card over at The Hedgehog Hollow blog HERE. I’m using a gel press and some Perfect Blend paper to create this magical background.

If you haven’t tried this paper, you might fall in love like I did…it’s so smooth and easy to blend ink on. And it also works SO WELL for techniques like this!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Make the Card Challenge #10

Hello! Today I’m participating in the Make the Card Challenge #10. It is a color challenge this time of purple, pink, teal, and lime!

Now, you probably think that I would make an Easter card….and that’s what I thought I would do, too! But I am surprising us ALL with this beautiful cupcake card:

I made a strawberry cupcake (PINK), with a (TEAL) cupcake liner, added some (PURPLE) frosting with a blackberry, and a slice of lime (LIME)! What a bright and fun cupcake, right?

I’m imagining there is a lime filling also. YUM! This could be an Easter cupcake, really…with all those spring colors.

I stamped this beautiful cupcake onto Bristol Smooth cardstock so I could use my Zigs to color it. I love these markers, so easy to blend on this smooth cardstock. I used these colors and a waterbrush to blend them out:

Cupcake: 200 S.Almond Pink, 230 Pale Rose, 026 Light Pink, 027 Dark Pink
Liner: 036 Light Blue, 042 Turquoise Green
Frosting & Blackberry: 803 English Lavender, 080 Violet, 084 Deep Violet, 027 Dark Pink
Lime: 041 Light Green, 045 Pale Green, 047 May Green, 051 Lemon Yellow

To finish it off, I added some Lavender cardstock as the frame and some pink enamel dots!

If you’d like to see just how EASY this is to watercolor, check out my video here:

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!
