Hello! Today I have a reveal of the Hedgehog Hollow May Kit and a card! This kit is full of musical instruments with stencils, stamps, and ephemera that can be foiled. It’s a beautiful mix and there’s so much you can do!
I have a video sharing everything that comes in the kit, and making a card using the piano keys stencil, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:
I couldn’t wait to use that piano keys stencil! It’s a fun one, but does need a bit of Pixie Spray (or removable adhesive spray) to keep it in place while you ink blend.
Does anyone else like a Golden piano with rainbow keys?! I thought this card would be a lot more colorful if I took some creative liberties with my colors. Lol. And it sure is fun (and different)!
I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!
Hope you enjoyed this one! See you soon with more cards!
Hello! Today I wanted to make a woodgrain background for my card, but I didn’t want it to be BROWN. So I decided to really take a leap from realistic woodgrain, and go with RAINBOW!
These are some really fun products from Scrappy Tails Crafts, and I think the woodgrain die is a favorite of mine! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:
I couldn’t bear to throw away the “extra” pieces that came out of that woodgrain die. So instead, I made a second card! I turned it into a birthday card because I thought those pieces looked like streamers or confetti. So that made for a fun birthday card.
The woodgrain background die is really a Slimline die, but below I cut it down to be a MINI slimline card. It still works. (And the birthday card is a regular A2 size card!)

Hello, it’s Kari here today and I’m excited to share some fun ideas with the *NEW Layering Dies just introduced to the Maker Forte line. I am so excited about these dies. I’m using the Daffodils for Days layering die set to make lots of cards today, and I hope it inspires you!
To show how to layer these dies up and create all these cards, I have made a video. In this video I share layering options, color choices, and finished cards to get your creativity flowing! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:
I really enjoyed working with this die set. I tried lots of colors and added some glitter cardstock, metallic cardstock, even mirror cardstock! I mixed and matched layers, using all of the layers on some of the cards, and just a couple layers on others. I did cut down some of the layers, and even used some of the die cut pieces that would normally be thrown out!
ALL THE LAYERS
These first cards use ALL FOUR layer of the die set, using different colors in monochromatic or complimentary colors. Oh, and I think Gold Glitter cardstock goes with ANYTHING! So I used gold glitter as the top layer here:
These four-layered cards are so beautiful that I didn’t even want to add a sentiment! I decided to put the sentiment on the inside of the card instead. On this turquoise card, I simply added some silver mirror paper on top and a silver/black pearl embellishment in the center.
JUST A COUPLE LAYERS
There are so many fun looks you can create by just using a couple of the layers. Many of these next cards use only a few layers, I just changed up the colors and textures.
This one is made with the back two layers, I used Windsor Blue cardstock and Blue Metallic cardstock. Then I stamped a blue “just because” and cut it out with a circle die to add to the center.
This one uses the top two layers with pink glitter and pink pearl cardstock. I added just a few Nuvo drops in a translucent color to complete the look. A simple Pink Hello sentiment strip is all it needs!
For this one, I used Blue Raspberry cardstock with Mint cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment onto the Mint cardstock. I added back in the top and bottom “cut away” pieces to give it a different look. Just a few sequins finished this card.
USING THE “THROW AWAY” PIECES
As I was making these cards, I realized that some of the pieces you would normally throw away were JUST TOO PRETTY to discard!! Check out these cards I made with the pieces that would have gone in the trash bin:
Here some “leftover” pink pearl paper with a simple white heat embossed sentiment and pink gems.
This gold glittery card turned out better than I imagined! Can you believe those pieces almost went into the trash bin?!? I added a Thanks sentiment die and a little pink heart.
Add a top layer of black cardstock to these “cut away” pink glitter pieces for a dramatic card! I used some black pearls to add to the center design.
Here I used the blue mirror card on cream paper and added a silver glitter top layer. You gotta see the video to see the real beauty of how this one came together! I put in on a stenciled background on kraft paper. I just love how this one turned out!
