Altenew August 2022 Bold & Beautiful Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in Total Prizes!)

Hello and welcome to the Bold & Beautiful new release blog hop!

Be bold, and be beautiful! This release includes fabulous florals, a geometric background, and even a set of sentiments perfect for the bibliophile in your life! We know you will love creating all kinds of inspiring projects with the stamps, dies, stencils, and embossing folders in this release. It’s time to get crafty!

I have FIVE + cards to share with you today! This release is SO SO GOOD…and I love these products.

Card 1: Dazzling Dahlia

This Dazzling Dahlia stamp set also has a coordinating stencil to make COLORING WITH INKS so easy! I love the results when you use your favorite ink colors.

I used one of the outline stamps to stamp the background with a bright, birthday pink ink. I stamped another of these gorgeous Dahlias on a separate piece of cardstock and colored it in with some more pink inks! So easy and beautiful! Then I die cut that out and popped it up on my card.

See that birthday sentiment? That’s another awesome product in this release that allows you to stamp and cut A BUNCH of sentiments at once! I used the same pink ink to color this sentiment up.

Card 2: Dazzling Dahlia with Intricate Mandala Stencil Background

I made a bunch of these flowers, so I just HAD to combine one of them with the new Intricate Mandala stencil. This stencil is GORGEOUS! I inked it with some yellow and pink inks. Then I added a butterfly with foil and gems.

Card 3: Happy Flowers & Linear Spiral

I love that they called this set HAPPY FLOWERS, because they are indeed happy! This is a beautiful layering stamp set..and I of course had to ink it in yellows! That linear background stamp is just gorgeous, too.

Notice that hummingbird? Well, of course I had to use that on another card, too. So I paired it with the beautiful stencil.

Card 4: Intricate Mandala Stencil with Hummingbird

Gosh I love that stencil. Here I used some different colors to ink it up and added the hummingbird right on top with some glitter! All these sentiments so far are from the One-Go Birthday Sentiments and die set.

Card 5: Linear Spiral with Dazzling Dahlia

I know you didn’t see nearly enough of that Linear Spiral Background Stamp, so here’s another look with more of those Dazzling Dahlias in different colors.

I stamped the background stamp in a pretty purple and added those beautiful Dahlias in blue and purple over the top. Another butterfly here…with a birthday greeting! Those birthday greetings are sure to be my most used set in my stash!! They are brilliant.

Card 6: For the Book lover

I absolutely adore the sentiments in this set!! They have quite a few to choose from and because I really wanted to share one today, I made a simple card using an older snapdragons layering set.

I chose the one from Anne of Green Gables, but I really do love all of them!

That is all the cards from me today, but be sure to continue along the hop and comment for your chance to win a prize!

I have created a video to share how I made a few of these cards, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

Let’s Have a Picnic

Hello! Today I have 2 Watermelon picnic cards to share using the new August Hedgehog Hollow Kit. This kit is just packed with all things picnic and grilling related…it’s really great!

I have a video sharing everything in the kit, and sharing how I made these two cards. Watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I loved making these cards, and got some surprising results with glitter paste and then glitter ON TOP of that! I hope you’ll check it out!

Card One

For this card I used the larger watermelon and also the cartoon-like ant. I also chose a couple papers from the paper pack included in the kit to act as our tableclothes.

I think that sentiment is so funny…and perfect for this card!

Card 2:

For this second card, I used the watermelon and ant background stencils. This is the same idea with the “tablecloth” patterned paper. Doesn’t this just look like a picnic waiting to happen?!? (Ants and all…LOL)

Notice the watermelon rinds…I used some neon green glitter paste with some darker green glitter sprinkled on top in spots. This is to mimic the watermelon striped rinds…did you get that?

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

Thanks for stopping by today! Now, who’s ready for a picnic?

Alice and the Caterpillar

Hello! Today I have a card that has been in my head for a while, and I finally made some time to create it. I paired the Cloud Heart stencil with the Smoking Caterpillar stamp set for a fun slimline card!

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

In my video I share how this card came together, and a bit of my Copic coloring process (which has been requested!)

I also share how to add some fun texture and dimension to this card for so much interest.

I always love creating with the Alice sets from Miss Ink Stamps, and this Caterpillar set is a new one in my collection! So I was so happy to color him up.

Isn’t that fun to have the smoke in the shape of heart clouds?!

I hope you enjoyed this project today! I really had fun making it, and I can’t wait to make my next Alice card. See you next time!

The Happiest Gingerbread Man

Hello! Today I have the cutest, happiest Gingerbread Man card to share with you! I am using a new stamp set from Maker Forte for this one, and it is one that is so versatile. You can make cute cards (like this one) or even more elegant cards depending on the images you choose. I just love sets like that.

I have a video for you on how this card came together, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

This card was such a delight to make, I might have been smiling the entire time!

I used the whipped cream from the set as my background, stamped in PINK! I think this could be peppermint whipped cream. YUM!

I also stamped some mini marshmallows in the background and some silver heat embossed snowflakes.

For the focal point, I stamped the mug with one of the sentiments (of course I had to choose “Hot Cocoa!”) Then I stamped that happy gingerbread man. I colored this up with Copic markers and popped it up with foam tape on the whipped cream panel.

Isn’t he so happy?!

SUNSHINE-Gidde-Up-Cowboy-card-1-with-paper-Kari-V

Reward: Time to Celebrate You

Hello! Today I have the easiest card that’s oh-so-cute! I am using the new set from Maker Forte called Giddy Up Cowboy. Here’s the best part: I used some pre-printed paper for the background! That’s right: the background was done for me!!

I love a great background, especially when it’s already done! And just look how cute it is. I cut the panel down so I would have a white frame around the background.

For this card, I stamped and colored a few of the images from the stamp set. I colored them up very simply with Copic markers (in keeping with the quick theme).

For the sentiment, I picked one from a simple sayings set and die cut it with the Simply Stated dies! Then I popped the sentiment and the images up with foam tape. VOILA! A completed card that was so so simple.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoyed this project today! Thanks for stopping by!
