Waffle Flower Blog Hop & Giveaway

blog-hop-header

I’m so excited to share with  you some of the new Waffle Flower goodies for the Late Fall 2017 Release! I hope you are enjoying the blog hop. There really are a lot of amazing products in this release and I have just a few to share today. Please visit the Waffle Flower Blog to see all the new release, you won’t want to miss a thing!

First, I am in LOVE with the new A2 Window Shutters Die and I used it here on this card:

shutters-card-1

I’ve always wanted a white house with black shutters, so I made my shutters black. Now, when you open the card, you will find a surprise!

shutters-card-2

A very smart bear who can read! (This bear is from the new Books and Coffee stamp set illustrated by Big Bear and Bird.) But that’s not all…open up the shutters all the way and find….

Rudolph peeking in through the window! The A2 Arch Window die is a must-have (in my humble opinion) and I have so many more fun ideas for this one.

**See my video near the end of this post, where I show you a variation of this card…to make a SHAKER card on the inside!

My second card features both the new Layering Wood Grain stamp set and Warm Hands Stamp set:

mittens-and-wood-card-1

This layering wood set is so interesting, with rich wood grain throughout. Even though I do know that wood doesn’t usually shine, I couldn’t resist using Aged Silver Embossing Powder on the second later to create that rich look.

And take a closer look at these layered mittens from the Warm Hands set:

These mittens are a dream to work with! They are very easy to line up, because really, it doesn’t have to line up perfectly for this rustic feeling. Confession: I’ve never owned a pair of mittens… (Arizona life…Lol.)

My last card to share today features the Cold Hands stamp set and these adorable ice-skating mice!

The cardinal on the log is so cute! I added an icy “lake” for them to skate on here. There is so much you can do with this set. There’s also a mouse made out of snow in this set…a Mouse-man?! So be sure to check out the entire release to see every bit of cuteness.

Watch my Video here or on my YouTube channel on how to use the A2 Window Shutters die to make a shaker card. Using this method makes it SO EASY to add a shaker on the inside!

You’re My World Watercolor Card (Waffle Flower)

Hi! This is Kari and I’m excited to be sharing my first video using Waffle Flower products! Today I’m using the set called Hooray illustrated by Helen Dardik. This is a favorite set for me…the images are so fun! I shared this on the Waffle Flower blog a few months ago, and I thought I’d share it here for all of you.

I am going to show you how to create a “World” for a couple of these happy kids to dance on using Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolors, but you can use any watercolors you might have.

It is easy to create a sentiment using the Cutaway Alpha Stamp set. Here I added a few other sets to complete my greeting.

There’s Snow one Cooler Than You!

My last entry for MFT Card Design Challenge is for the Innovation Master.

Here I made a slider card using a magnet at the end. This way, this “PRO” snowboarder tumbles down the mountain and lands on his head every time! LOL.

And here’s this snowboarder in action:

Oh boy…this reminds me of: ME on a snowboard.

I hope you enjoyed this one! I get a chuckle every time. 🙂

Can’t Bear to be Without You

Hello! Today I’m trying my hand at another MFT Superstar Challenge! This time the coloring Virtuoso category.

When I originally got these Polar Pals, I thought they could easily become a grizzly bear. I’m always needing bears for cards for my Dad (bears are his favorite)….so this one is for him. I started out stamping this bear near the center of the card, and colored him with bear-ish fur using Prismacolor Colored Pencils. Then I thought to myself…I need a background. Here’s how it all started:

bear-waving-no-background

It’s pretty intimidating to look at a blank white card and decide to make your own background with pencils. Enter Bravery! I actually created this background!! EEK!

Here’s the start of the background, and adding shading & different colors to the bear’s fur:

I also used Distress Oxides to help me out a bit. Oh, and I used a few MFT stencils to help me out with some shapes! I turned the TEARDROP stencil upside down to help out with some of the leaves…and I used the COWPRINT stencil to help create some of those stones. Isn’t that awesome!?

Now, let me show you the finished card. I ended up adhering it to a black card base for some contrast.

This card took me a LOOOOOOOONG time to color, but I’m happy with how it turned out. I hope you like it, too!

Wish me luck 🙂

seagull-thanks

The Seagull Strikes Again

Hi! I’m sharing another reason I had to have the Seaside Seagulls from MFT.

This is a card I made for my husband. I was feeling a little snarky, and well….nearly EVERY time we go to the beach, a seagull targets my husband. It’s actually become a little joke now. So I gave this card to him and he couldn’t stop laughing!!

seagull-thanks

I’m sorry…is this too terrible?! Has it ever happened to you?

I used Distress Inks as watercolors to make the splatter, and to color up that sneaky seagull!

So I’m entering this into the MFT Stamps Superstar challenge for the Clean and Simple category. (Although I don’t know if this card should belong in a category that starts with “Clean”…. Lol.)
