The Greatest Gift…..Really!

Today I’m going to tell you all the reasons why I love this new set from Our Daily Bread Designs called “The Greatest Gift.”

  1. It is a beautiful Mother’s Day set with GORGEOUS butterflies (just look at that detail in the wings!)
  2. It has not only the butterfly stamps but also the matching DIES to cut out those butterflies (yes! The dies come with it!)
  3. I love all the sentiments like: “A mother holds your hand for a while, but holds your HEART forever” and “To the World you are a Mother, but to your family you are the World”
  4. The font on said sentiments is a fantastic blend of script and uppercase lettering
  5. It makes beautiful cards so easy…

Here are my creations this week with this set:

sunshine-blue-butterflies

I heat embossed the butterflies on VELLUM with glitter embossing powder. I thought the wings looked so beautiful on vellum. And there is that sentiment that I love! I used this set for the gate, which I embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

Here’s a closer look at those butterflies…look at that detail in the wings!

On this card, I also heat embossed onto vellum and then I added color to the back of the vellum using Distress Oxides. If you look closely, you will see where I stamped the butterflies using WATER onto the background to create a ghosted effect. So cool. I love that circle scalloped rectangle die…I just picked this up last month at the Stamp Convention.

For this last card, I thought the butterflies needed some flowers to complete the scene. If I were to mail this card, I would definitely need to make a larger envelope! This time I embossed with gold embossing powder onto white cardstock, then I added some color using a finger dauber and some Distress Oxides in three different colors: Picked Raspberry, Spiced Marmalade, and Squeezed Lemonade. I inked up the background with some Salty Ocean Distress Oxide and added another of my favorite sentiments from this set.

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! I’ll be back next week with some fun beachy projects to share…and I can’t wait!

Timeless Totes with Our Daily Bread Designs

Today I want to introduce you to an awesome purse die from Our Daily Bread Designs. It’s called Timeless Totes and is so much fun to create with! I felt just like a purse designer, and I just couldn’t stop at one. Instead, I created two entire lines: The Essentials Collection, and The Spring Collection:

THE ESSENTIALS COLLECTION

THE SPRING COLLECTION

One thing I love about this die set is that it’s so versatile! You can add the tassel in various colors, you can add the pocket, you can add the buckle…there is so much you can do to change up these purses.

For example, take a look at this spring collection: on the blue purse I added the pocket and a buckle, the yellow purse I simply added a small flower on the pocket, and the purple purse I added the tassel to the pocket that was embossed for interest. Also, look at the beautiful papers that you can change up to make any feeling you want! (You can bet I’ve got more collections coming)!

Here’s a closer look at the spring collection, it’s a casual, happy collection with sweet spring colors:

I added the cream color on the handles of this purse for more interest. And that sweet little flower is from this set.

Take a look at those side pockets! These are so awesome because when you attach them, they create that soft curve…perfect for holding a cell phone, right?! Lol.

sunshine-spring-collection-purple

The purple tassel is one of my favorites…matches those pretty handles!! Do you need a purple purse in your life?

And for the Essentials Collection, I had some fun with embossing on the body of the purses.

Look at those KEYS!!! I used this die here and heat embossed them several times with silver embossing powder. I just love them hanging off the purse! I wouldn’t have to dig through my purse to find my keys if they hang so nicely on the side like this! Lol. I used another die here to emboss those circles around the face of the purse, and I added a black “leather like” band around the bottom of the purse.

sunshine-embossed-square-with-stitches-straight

Notice the stitches around the edges of this purse…I simply used a black pen! So easy. And here I used gold foil paper for the buckle and around the top of the tassel. I just ADORE those finishing touches. I embossed the double stitched square dies in the center of the purse. Doesn’t that just add some class?!

sunshine-pearl-embossed-purse

This embossed purse might be my favorite! I used pearl paper so in real life this purse just glows with pearlescent beauty! I used this die here to create the diamonds in the purse, and added black paper on the sides for a dramatic look! It’s so fancy! Oh, and see the gold plate near the top of the purse…that’s part of the buckle that I cut with gold foil paper; just imagine that’s where the designer label is etched.

sunshine-taupe-purse

This taupe purse rounds out the Essentials collection. Here I used white for the tassel and the buckle to match the fun polka dots on the pocket. And that pocket really opens! It’s held closed by a small piece of velcro.

So which purse would you need to add to your purse collection? I just realized that I would need a basic black purse too, and probably a red purse, and a turquoise purse….Lol. I have a few more to create, don’t I?

I hope you enjoyed these collections today! Do check out these dies at Our Daily Bread Designs, I think that they are so much fun to create with.

Hope Blooms

Hi, today I have a soft and beautiful floral card to share with you. I just got a new stencil that I love and I decided to dry emboss it first, then add some color using distress ink and a little colored pencil.

Isn’t this a glorious flower? Here is another photo where you can see the embossing:

Sometimes I just need to to make a flower come alive with color! “Where flowers bloom, so does hope” is from the Peony Spray stamp set from Altenew. This stencil, called Poppy Bloom is also from Altenew and was perfect for today. So pretty, and the soft coloring was just like a hug for me. Hope on a card!

I hope you enjoyed this sweet and hopeful project today.

Wishing a very Happy 4th Birthday to Altenew!!

You’re All Kinds of Awesome

Hello again! Today I have a sweet little project using a favorite new panda die from Neat and Tangled.

youre-all-kinds-of-awesome

Isn’t he so sweet? I first used a stencil to ink up the background with distress inks. Then I die cut the panda into both the white panel and some black craft foam. I used acetate between the white panel and the craft foam. I added some sparkle with sequin glitter and attached everything together. The sentiment is also from Neat and Tangled.

I thought it would make the perfect card to enter into the Autism Awareness 2018 card hop with Veronica Zalis here.

I hope you enjoy!

Wavy Words Banner Stamp/Die Duo

Hello! Today I am so happy to share some projects using a new set by Our Daily Bread Designs. This product is called Wavy Words Stamp/Die Duo. I love that the words in the set fit perfectly in the banner die that is included!

Here are my happy projects:

sunshine-happy-birthday

The font is so fun on that Happy Birthday sentiment, don’t you think? If you look closely, you can see the embossing on that banner die. I die cut the banner, and then ran it back through my die cut machine using the embossing mat to get the best impression! (I’ll show you what I mean in the video below).

sunshine-mr-and-mrs

This next card uses the embossing technique with a die, as well as HEAT embossing on the Mr. & Mrs. Here I used one of my favorite colors of embossing powders: Liquid Platinum by Ranger. I used mostly white on white, with just a touch of blue Distress Ink in the background.

My last card is a favorite because it uses SUNSHINE!

To see how you can easily ink up an embossed image like this one, take a look at my video here or view it on YouTube:

Check out the blog for Our Daily Bread Creations here to see all the cards lined up! (so inspiring, in my humble opinion). Thanks for stopping by!
