August Release with Our Daily Bread Designs

Hello and welcome to a preview of some of the August new release items for Our Daily Bread Designs! This release is a beautiful assortment of get well wishes and products to show gratitude for our dentists, nurses, doctors, and such. I have a few projects to share highlighting some of the new release!

First is this unique set called King of My Heart. It is a stamp AND die set, with lots of great sentiments.

The die is that unique heartbeat…and here I cut it with black paper, and then dry embossed it multiple times over the white background. The stethoscope is a separate die, which I cut and colored with copics. If you know a nurse or doctor, this set is perfect!

Next is another great die…it’s called Bandages, and there are a variety of sizes and shapes to choose from. I am showing just one of the bandages, which I cut out of white paper and then colored with Copics in E30, E31, and E33. I added a glitter heart that I cut with the King Of My Heart die. I used the Lever Card die (from a previous release) to make a fun, interactive card for this one.

and here’s the inside:

The Get Well Soon sentiment is just the right size!

My last card today showcases the new Happy Smiles Stamp/Die duo set and Doctor Bag die. I am absolutely in love with these sets! Just look how cute that little smiling tooth is holding his toothbrush!!

I used the Sunburst Background die to create a stencil on the background with Distress Oxide ink in Salty Ocean. I used Copics on the tooth and to add some shadowing on the Doctor’s Bag.

I hope you enjoyed a small look at some of these new products. I’ll have more to share next week!

Be a Mermaid

sunshine-mermaid-july

Hello! Today I’m stopping by to share a card I created using the new Ellen Hutson Mermaid stamp set! I absolutely fell in love with the sentiments and that mermaid tail.

Here I heat embossed them with silver embossing powder on Bristol smooth paper. Then I colored them all up using Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. These watercolor markers are so fun to use and so easy to blend.

I used the MFT cloud stencil for the sky, and the Lawn Fawn waves dies for the ocean. That sand embossing powder is from Emerald Creek and is one of my new favorite embossing powders!! It has so much real texture. Love it.

I know I will have many, many more cards to make with this Mermaid set! Thanks so much for stopping by.

Quilts Have Feelings Too…

Hello! Let me just explain that blog title! When you make a quilt, the colors and styles of the fabric (or paper) give the quilt a certain feeling. So today I am going to show you three very different quilts that evoke different feelings…

This first one reminded me of hunting (or safari) so I decided to use some die cuts in black to add the details. Some deer and trees make for a great hunting feel! Then I added some embroidery floss in green and attached it to the needle from the Sewing Kit die…that needle was die cut from some silver foil paper.

Now compare the feeling of that quilt to this next quilt card:

This one is definitely brighter and very happy! I love the vibrant colors of these papers from this pack. The flower is the Aster die and I added the new Hugs die with a green shadow to match the leaves. I added some color to the flower with Distress Oxide inks and a finger dauber.

And my last quilted card to share is using these dies to create those Quilted Squares. sunshine-dont-give-up

I used different papers from this paper pad to add a pop, and the Lattice Background die to emboss the background. The sentiment is heat embossed in white on a black background and is from the Walk By Faith stamp/die duo.

I really love all the looks you can get from these sets! The first one is definitely more of a masculine feeling, don’t you think? Hope you enjoyed a look at these projects today!

Have a Rainbow Kind of Day!

Hello! Today I have some fun rainbow themed cards for you using the Hedgehog Hollow July box. I am just loving this box so much, and I couldn’t stop creating with the cute images and papers that are included!

For my first card, I used the Ric Rac dies in the box and created a rainbow element on my card:

I used the papers to create the purple background and to paper piece her hat! I love a rainbow hat. Lol. I colored that little girl up with Copic markers, then attached her to the card using foam tape for dimension. The sentiment is white heat embossed on black paper.

This second card also uses many of the papers included in the box. They are so bright and fun so I had to make the rainbow die striped! (notice it matches her innertube!) This card came together so easily…I just took some Distress Oxide ink for the background, added the girl with foam tape, and stamped on some of the water droplets that are included in the stamp set! Some white Nuvo drops finished it all off.

I die cut the background using a frame die from my stash out of two different papers in the kit. And I really DO wish you a rainbow kind of day!

This last card was one I made FIRST from the kit, but I’m just sharing it today! I loved the idea of a rainbow color of those innertubes and swimsuits, floating along a ric rac river! Aren’t they cute?

I hope you enjoyed these projects today. I sure enjoyed making them. I cannot WAIT for the next box to arrive. For more information about these jam-packed subscription boxes, visit the Hedgehog Hollow here. Thanks for visiting!

Rainbow Hugs for You

Hello! Today I have some rainbow hugs for you!! Yes, I am taking a closer look at the Hugs Stamp/Die Duo from Our Daily Bread Designs and I just knew they would look great with a rainbow of colors.

I used Distress Oxide to ink up the backgrounds in a variety of colors and then I added the Hugs die cut in a diagonal pattern. Isn’t it cute? This hugs die cuts AND embosses…which adds some great interest to the card.

sunshine-hugs-because-you-can-never-have-too-many

That sentiment is oh-so-true! You can never have too many hugs! This sentiment comes in the stamp/die duo and I love all of the sentiments included.

On my second card I also used a rainbow of colors, and this time I masked off the stripes to leave some white space. Then I added the Art Deco Border Die over the inked portions. This is my first time using this die and I’m so pleased with how smooth it cut…it’s just beautiful!

I used spray adhesive on this one (my first time!) and it adhered like a dream. I recommend using a box to spray in and a well ventilated area!

I popped up the hugs sentiment on black craft foam to give more dimension and really make that “hugs” die pop!

I hope you enjoyed these fun, bright cards today. For more inspiration and to see more products from the July release, be sure to visit the Our Daily Bread Designs blog post here.

Rainbow hugs to you!
