September Release for Our Daily Bread Designs

Hello! I am excited to show you a sampling of the September new release from Our Daily Bread Designs! This month it’s all about music, instruments, and notes!

I was so happy to see an awesome GUITAR die! Not many people know this about me…but I used to play the guitar (both electric and acoustic), and this release has inspired me greatly to pick it up again.

Take a look at this beauty:

I used a bit of foil paper on the body of that first guitar, and also on the accents of the second and third guitar. Can I just tell you…foil paper looks AMAZING on these dies!! My electric guitar is black glossy and so that is what I really wanted to create at first. But it’s so fun to create so many color options. The sentiment is from “Jesus Rocks” stamp set.

Another really great set to use glossy black paper is on the Piano Die. Take a look at my Glossy Black Lacquer piano:

Believe me when I say….in real life this glossy paper looks AWESOME! I wish I could properly capture it in a photo to show you. I popped up the top glossy black piece with fun foam to give it some dimension.

This piano die comes in three pieces, so you can layer them up…the black keys on top of the white keys, the piano top over them all. I cannot wait to make a shaped card with this die. The background on this card is from a stamp set called “Victory in Jesus” and I stamped it in Distress Oxide ink in Peacock Feathers.

Here is another piano I created using the piano die:

This one is covered in the music notes, which I stamped in black and embossed with clear embossing powder. I used the new paper pad (here) for the background, and the alphabet flags for the banner!

Here’s the sentiment I used on the inside:

I love this sentiment! It comes from the Marvelous Things set.

The last card I have to share today highlights the Musical background coverplate die and Musical Notes dies:

The treble clef is such a great size die! I love it paired with the musical notes background.

Bloom Where you are Planted

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a card that is a bit of a SNEAK PEEK! This card uses products from the September Hedgehog Hollow box…and let me tell you: they are beautiful!

I’m using just two of the stamp sets from the box today (there are three stamp sets included in this box, along with some other fun goodies…see my unboxing video below for all the details!)

Here I colored up one of the blooms with Copic markers in my favorite color obsession right now: Coral. I was actually inspired by the Catherine Pooler ink that comes in the box for this one.

Look at those beautiful blooms! And I absolutely adore the large Bloom sentiment. Here I have embossed it with my favorite Mirror Gold embossing powder. Here’s a better look at that gold:

I used some paper from my stash for the background. Then I popped up the white sentiment panels AND the flowers on 3M foam tape for some dimension. I added some clear droplets to finish it all off, and some dots with white and black gel pens on the flowers.

Here’s a close up of the details on the floral spray:

It is a fun set and I’m excited to create more with the awesome background stamps that are just the right fit for these flowers.

With Every Beat of My Heart

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by. Today I have a review of some of my very favorite stamps and dies from the August Release with Our Daily Bread Designs.

First I have this heartbeat card that shows you can use the King of My Heart Stamp/Die duo for more than just get well cards! These are fun for Anniversary, Love You cards, Valentine cards, or even Thinking of You cards. There are some great sentiments like: “Heartfelt thanks for all you do,”  “You make my heart beat,” and “King of my heart!” Here I used another one of my favorite sentiments from the set:

sunshine-every-beat-of-my-heart

I used red glitter paper for the frame and for the dies. The beautiful part is that this die also cuts out hearts you can use for decoration on your card (which I did here). Love that.

The sentiment is also from the same set. I love a good Stamp/Die duo! I masked off a portion of the sentiment and stamped in red, then stamped the rest of it in black.

The next card shows more of the get well dies, and you will see why they are my favorites! I used similar products for both of these cards:

The Bandages Dies, Doctor bag Die, and Stethoscope Die are among my favorites! So much fun to color or just die cut and emboss. Here I used kraft paper on those bandages, but I have also colored them up with Copic markers with fantastic results (like in the card below).

Here I added a portion of the Nurse Cap die (red cross) for a small element in the background as a recurring design. I love using small elements for adding interest to a background!

I used silver embossing powder to the stethoscope to add that metallic feeling…and also added a little to the doctor bag, too. The sentiments on both of these cards are from Get Well Wishes Stamp set.

Thanks for spending a little time here today!

Sending Hedgehugs Slider card

Hi there! I have a fun slider card for you today using products from The Hedgehog Hollow August box.

slider-hedgehog-card

This is a dimensional card, I cut multiple layers of different sized stitched squares in each layer. Then I added some foam in between the layers to create that dimension. The very top layer has the slider with the hedgehog on top of the double-decker bus (he’s delivering the hugs!)

That very cool slider element is this slider set here.

When I completed and took pictures of this card, I decided to add a little USA heart in the place of the “o” and here’s how it turned out:

slider-with-heart

Which one do you like better?! I also added a stamped envelope:

And VOILA! It’s all ready to send to my friend in England from the USA! This is such a fun box, and I loved coloring up those hedgehogs in a variety of ways. Check out my other projects I made with this box here, here, and here.

For more information about these subscription boxes, check out the Hedgehog Hollow shop here. One of the reasons I love these boxes is that you get a different company stamps and/or dies in the box each month (it’s always a fun surprise)…and it’s a great way to try out new stamps!

Get Well Soon Bandages

Hello! Today I’m showcasing the bandage dies from Our Daily Bread Designs. I love these bandage dies…when you die cut them and then emboss them, they look like real bandages!

Here I used kraft paper to cut and emboss the bandages:

sunshine-ouch-bandge-card-new

The “Ouch” sentiment is from the Get Well Wishes stamp set. (This stamp set is just full of great wishes!) I added some glitter hearts in rainbow colors to match the colors of sentiments. The heart die cut is from this set.

My next card, I die cut the bandage from white paper and then used my Copics in E30 colors to color them up. I love this look…I really feel like they look like the real bandages!

sunshine-plaid-get-well

The stethoscope and doctor bag dies are now some of my favorites! I did use a bit of silver embossing powder on that stethoscope to give it a metallic look.

The plaid paper is from the Boho Bolds paper pad and I used this paper for the Get Well Wishes die, too! That is some good looking plaid… Here’s a little close up:

sunshine-get-well-close-up-on-plaid

I think this Get Well Soon die is such a great size! When you make a landscape card (like this one), it will all fit on an A2 size card (4.25″ x 5.5″).

When you want to create a portrait card, the Get Well Soon dies will also fit using only the first two words:
