Handmade Candy Book

Hello! I am excited to share this project with you today….we are making Candy Books from cardstock! Remember those lifesaver books that made an appearance this time of year? Well, that’s kinda the idea with this project.

I have a video with ALL the details of how to make this, watch it here or in HD on YouTube:

For the front cover I created a book jacket with silver vellum (I love this stuff!). I heat embossed the stamp from “All I Want for Christmas” on the vellum and I really love how it turned out.

For the inside, I stamped in red and green using the Tough Nut to Crack stamp set.

On the spine, I added some details with stamps and glitter tape. I love the font of the scripty “Jingle all the way.”

For the back of the book, I wanted some interesting texture, so I used the Damask stamp to clear heat emboss a design.

I have a few other ideas for the book front cover, too. You could easily change out this book jacket cover for a stenciled front cover. Here’s my favorites from the newest Maker Forte release:

Stencil this one up in reds and greens for a festive look!
A pretty Poinsettia!
Make them all have red glittery noses…or just one!

I hope you enjoyed these projects today…these are definitely favorites of mine!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I’ll be back soon with more projects and cards!

Ghosts that Trick or Treat

Hello! Just popping by to share a Halloween card that I love! These little ghosts are new from Miss Ink Stamps and they are the cutest trick or treaters.

I created a video to show you how to easily put a card like this together, watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I just adore these products I’m sharing today. If you’ve been following me, you might notice this stencil is a favorite…I used it before on THIS Alice in Wonderland Card.

I used a light grey and purple ink this time on this stencil, I think those colors are great for Halloween!

Feline Spooky!

Hello, I’m back with another Halloween card this time with new supplies from Miss Ink Stamps. This stamp set is called Feline Spooky, and I combined it with the new Halloween Sentiments stamp set.

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I also used the “Square Dance” stencil to add a little interest in the background. I think this stencil looks a little like Gauze…so perfect for a Halloween card!

This is a fun one to color! In my video I share a way to add texture to your copic coloring.

The copic colors I used are:
Oranges: YR18, YR16, YR15, Y35
Black/Grey: N1, N3, N5, N7
Purple: BV17, BV13, BV11
Green: YG25, YG23, YG21

Spring Birdhouses

Hello! I’m so happy to share these Spring Birdhouses with you today. These can be made into slimline cards OR Pop-up cards and I’m going to show you how easy they are to make! Of course, once I started making them I just had to make a rainbow of birdhouses. (That’s the logical thing to do, right?!)

I have a video showing how to put these together and how to make both the card AND Pop-up card. I love them both…and you can stand them up to make a Spring decor piece, too! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

For most of these birdhouses, I used the Woodgrain die cut…but sometimes I only EMBOSSED that woodgrain into the paper. It really creates a great look and it’s a bit of a variation from the die cut itself.

See that woodgrain embossed on this purple card? It is my new favorite background! I added some Layered Daisies dies on this one and the You Are Beautiful medallion, which is an incentive die when you purchase a qualifying amount at the Scrappy Tails shop.

The Mother’s Day sentiment dies are also among my favorites and I used them on these cards:

Left to right: embossed woodgrain background, White woodgrain die on cream cardstock, kraft woodgrain die on cream cardstock.

I love all the variety you can get with these Birdhouses and the Woodgrain background. Imagine all the colors you could die cut these from, OR emboss multiple colors of cardstock! I just couldn’t stop with these birdhouses!

The hummingbirds are from the Mama Birds Stamp set, and the other colorful birds are from the Spring Birds stamp set. I’ve listed and linked them all below if you want to check them out.

All the flowers used in all these cards are from the Layered Daisies dies. I love these because there are such a variety of flowers. You get some front facing flowers like the ones on the pink card, and some reaching up to the sun like the ones on the orange card! So many to choose from.

I hope you enjoyed these projects today! I sure loved making them. Check out the video for more details on how to put these together and make them stand up! Thanks for stopping by.
