Easy Backgrounds with Alcohol Ink

Hello! Today I’m excited to share one of the products from the NEW Release from Maker Forte! It’s a Christmas in July release, but there are a few products that are not-so-Christmasy like this one.

I love this slimline die, and today I’m sharing how to create easy Alcohol ink backgrounds! Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

If you have never used Alcohol inks, this technique is SO EASY and it comes out as a surprise every time. That’s one thing I love about using alcohol inks: the variety!

Just look at how that top card looks like theres mountains and clouds in the background! I couldn’t have planned it better. Here’s my simple technique:

  1. Add Alcohol Blending Solution to glossy photo paper
  2. Drop on some alcohol ink…start with one or two colors
  3. Use a spritzer tool to move the inks around
  4. Add more ink or Blending solution until you like it
  5. Allow to dry
  6. Cut to size for background

There, see how easy that is?

I also used the “extra” die cuts from the silver glitter paper to create a third card using the inlaid die cut technique. This creates a smooth card and looks so neat.

I love creating interesting backgrounds for these slimline dies. Here’s a photo of one I created earlier for the Safari die. I used some striped stamps and Mansi’s art marks stamps to create an interesting look.

Check out the entire new release from Maker Forte HERE.

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you enjoyed! If you give it a try, please tag me so I can see your creations! Thanks for stopping by.

Easy Foiled Backgrounds with Toner Sheets

Hello! Today I have FOUR cards to share with you using Toner sheets to create four easy foiled backgrounds.

I recently fell in love with these toner sheets, and I have a video sharing just how to create them so EASILY with this one trick. Watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I started with some kraft Toner Sheets called Chic Chevrons and foiled it with the beautiful Lapis Watercolor foil (all supplies listed below). This created a great background, but I still had quite a bit of beautiful foil that hadn’t been used. So I took that LEFTOVER foil and put in on a toner sheet and ran it thru the Minc machine. BAM! Another beautiful foiled background to create a card!

That sentiment cracks me up…it’s a Simple Sentiment from Maker Forte! So many great ones in this kit that you can cut out and use on cards (or foil them up, too!) They are printed on toner sheets so they are also easily foiled!

I really couldn’t stop there! I tried some NEW TO ME Clear Toner Sheets next with flowers on them. These foil up so great! I tried the Summer Rainbow foil on them this time.

And of course I used the LEFTOVER foil from this one to create a second card!

Watch the video to see how I created all the detail on the Queen of Hearts dress, too! She wanted the roses red…and we got some of them right! But still she exclaims “Off With their Heads!” (You gotta love the Queen of Hearts).

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you loved these easy foiled backgrounds today! These were fun to create. There are prizes to be won over at the Miss Ink Stamps blog and Thermoweb blog all this week. So head on over and leave a comment for your chance to win!

Hello! Today I have a card with Alice! You know I love this series of stamps from Miss Ink Stamps, and today I have a NEW stamp set called “Wonderland Wisdom” that I’m creating a card with.

Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

I love this saying and it makes me think: I should be thinking impossible things! (or at least dreaming!)

Can you see that extra shine I added with the small stars and glitter?! This is a fun card to create and I absolutely love that stencil in the background.

Stamp & Stencil: Mingling Mingos

Hello! I’m here and delighted to share with you the new Stamp & Stencil set from Maker Forte called “Mingling ‘Mingos.” This could very well be my favorite stamp & stencil yet!

I have a short video sharing four ways to use this set, with different techniques to try! Watch it below or in HD on YouTube:

I hope you enjoy! Here’s a quick share of each card:

First up: my only BLUE card with white pigment ink clouds. I love this look, even though more traditional is the pink flamingo!

Card 2: Stamp with Hot Pink ink! Here I used the Rah Rah Skirt neon ink from Maker Forte, which makes for a brilliant flamingo! I inked on a dusk background for this one and added some Rhubarb Rhipple gems.

Card 3: Glitter Embossing Powder

For this one, I stamped a more coral-colored flamingo then added some glitter embossing powder to make it really sparkle!

Card 4: Stencil on Stencil

I love this technique, and I also love how this card turned out!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope this inspired you to try some of these techniques! And if you haven’t picked up this flamingo stamp & stencil set yet…hurry on over before it sells out! See you soon!
