Altenew: A Year In Review Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello and welcome to our Year in Review blog hop. This is such a fun one…we are sharing our favorites from the year!!

This was not easy for me to pick just four projects from Altenew that I loved. But I narrowed it down and had some help from my family in picking the very best ones. Here they are:

1. Rose with Kissing Technique:

This card was a result of the Name Alphabet Challenge! I had to choose a technique that started with the first letter of my first name, which is K! This threw me for a loop at first and then I remembered the KISSING technique, which I used on the vase. I love how it turned out with THIS rose layering die set! (read the full post and see more Kissing cards HERE)

2. Peace Rose with Gold Foil

The Gilded Rose hot foil plate turned out to be a big favorite!! Altenew released their very first hot foil collection, and this Gilded Rose with Layering Stencil for coloring was completely a dream to work with! I love how dramatic and large it is, and the resulting card is just beautiful! When you have amazing supplies like these, it is easy to get a stunning look.

3. Queen of the Lilies

The Queen of the Lilies Layering stamp set was one of my favorite layering stamp sets of the year. Altenew really has their layering stamps dialed in…and this one turns out gorgeous with any colors you use! See more color examples and cards with this set in THIS blog post.

4. Carolina Allspice

I adore the Craft-A-Flower series from Altenew, and this Carolina Allspice was a DELIGHT to put together! I love the layers and the look of the leaves, and I think once these flowers are assembled, they create a stunning card! See the original blog post and video HERE.

I hope you agree with my TOP 4 picks for the year. I know there were lots more products and cards that I loved…but these ones just stood out for me!

NEW CLASS!

I also wanted to announce that I will be teaching (along with some other talented Altenew Certified Educators!) a NEW class over at Altenew called “Wonderful Ways with Dies” and I want to invite you to join us! It starts this week and it’s going to be a fun one! You can join in anytime…and the classes are yours to watch over and over if you’d like.

You can choose to join just the class for some inspirations and beautiful techniques OR you can purchase the class AND the kit so you will have all the products to reproduce the cards we share in class! Win-Win! I hope to “see” you there!

Merry Christmas, everyone! I am posting a Holiday Bouquet for you today and hoping that you are having a wonderful season. This video is unique in that I RARELY share my no-line coloring techniques. Mainly because it takes SO long.

But today is a special occasion, so I have a gift for you. Watch the video below or in HD on YouTube:

If you haven’t tried no-line coloring before…try these easy techniques that I share in my video. I hope you find that it’s really relaxing and the results are dreamy.

Nail Polish Gifts

Hello! I have a fun Nail Polish project to share with you. I’m making some cute folders to hold nail stickers for my family and I thought I’d share it with you.

I think a video is the perfect place to explain all the details…watch it here or in HD on YouTube:

These nail polish bottles are glittery!! When you open up the card, it reveals a little folder holding some nail stickers.

These were fun to make…and I included a little nail file too. Those are super handy when you are putting on nail strips!

4 Ways to use Alpha Sets

Hello! Today I’m excited to share 4 more ideas on using Alphabet stamp sets. I have found the BIGGEST alpha stamp set I have ever seen…and my projects today are all using this set.

Watch my video below or in HD on YouTube:

1. Spell It Out

Of course, the first and most obvious use of Alphabet stamps is to spell out a word or a name. But have you ever replaced one of the letters with an image?! This is fun and adds some whimsy to the page.

Also, try stacking your letters for a different look!

2. Monograms and Initial Cards

The letters on this set are so large and that makes them PERFECT for a monogram or Initial Card! These are great for cards AND tags.

Today I made a very non-Christmas initial card for my Daughter-in-Law. Her birthday is this week and often gets mixed up with Christmas. So this is just for her to show that we are celebrating HER on her birthday.

3. As a Background

Letters make a fun background and these large letters really add a pop! Here I repeatedly stamped the word JOY in green ink and then black heat embossed the deer over the top using THIS stamp set.

4. Home Decor

Another really positive aspect of such a large stamp set, is that you can make home decor pieces and signs. Here I made a Merry little sign by heat embossing in gold over a red painted wood block. I added an easy rustic frame and Voila!

I’m often asked what supplies I use to make my cards and projects, so I’ve put together a list using affiliate links when possible. If you make a purchase with these links I may receive a small commission. These help me to keep up with blog costs and continue bringing you fun projects. Thank you so much for your support!

I hope you have a very happy holiday season!

Altenew NEW Year-End Celebration Collection Release Blog Hop + Giveaway ($300 in total prizes)

Welcome to the Altenew Year-End Celebration and Blog Hop! There are lots of prizes, too, so stay tuned for the details!

Today I have THREE projects to share with you using some of these new and awesome products.

Card 1: YAY and Cake!

In this card I’m showcasing the new Celebrate with Cake die and Fancy Yay die. I think this cake die is awesome…with layers and frosting you can create in any color you want!

I die cut that Fancy Yay die in pink glitter paper to really make this something fancy!

For the colors, I used some of the new Frozen Delights inks to color the polka dots and cake stand. I used this stencil to dry emboss the background panel and then ink over it with these soft ink colors. Doesn’t it just look like a cake with ice cream inspiration?!

If you want to see how this card came together, check out my short video here or in HD on YouTube:

Card 2: Gold Band Lily

For this card, I die cut the lily with a glitter paper base, then 2 yellow layers. The center stamens are also green glitter paper with a purple pollen layer. I used a patterned paper from this set for the background. Then added a Hello sentiment die from this set.

Card 3: Miss You Floral Card

This card was really fun to make. I used the new Lovely Daisies Die set together with the Mega Stamp Frames die set to create a lovely card.

Of course, I added some colorful inking, some glittery bling, and some fun paper to finish out this card! I love this stencil for an interesting background!!
