Hello Friendly Flower card

Today I have a very happy card to share with you! I created this card to participate in the Paper Smooches Designer Drafts challenge.

5-14-friendly-flowers-hello

I used the Paper Smooches Friendly Flower stamp set, which has that great plaid flower AND the hello outline sentiment. So great for Spring. I tried out some Zing pink embossing powder for the hello…it’s so vibrant! And to match that great color, I used some Inktense watercolor pencils for the flower and to create a border around the tag.

Here’s the challenge designer draft:

Great design, gals!

I heat embossed that little heart on the flower, so it has a great pop and dimension to it. Sometimes a card takes on a life of its own, and this time the pink really took over. 😉

5-14-friendly-flowers-3 Doesnt this card just make you happy?!

Dinosaur Shaker card

This is my very first shaker card! I was inspired by Paulina over at Pretty Pink Posh to give it a try. So, my first instinct was to start with my Paper Smooches Cuteasaurus stamps. I mean, these guys are just plain adorable!

I used my (new!) Big Shot to die cut that hello five times in black, then die cut one more time with my green safari paper to put on top of the stack. Awesome.

I used the most natural colored sequins I had (in this case light green and blue) and threw in some silver stars just for fun!

Doesn’t this card just make you want to shake! Ha, ha…ok, maybe it’s just me. But I was so excited about this FIRST shaker card. Here, I’ve attached it to some dinosaur coloring pages for my nephews in Utah. And look, if you shake the card just right you can make the dinosaurs look like they are EATING those sequins. Oh my goodness, will the fun never end?!

Well, I did have a great time with this shaker card, I see many more in my future. Practice, practice, practice. I think my Arizona nephews just may love a card like this too…

Thanks Bunches card

This week has been a week of gratitude for me…and I never seem to have enough thank you cards! So today, I was inspired by the colors of Paper Smooches in their weekly challenge and I created a happy thank you card for a favorite person.

I used some distress inks to create a colorful background for this very happy bunny! And see those carrots in the background? They are heat embossed with sparkly embossing powder. Here’s a better look:

Wishing You Sunny Days card

More inspiration from Julie Ebersole and Kristina Werner!

This time, some sun rays and glitter embossing powder inspired me to put together this little sweet card:

I used a Hero Arts stamp for the rays, and added clear glitter embossing powder. In real life, the glitter looks so cool!
I can’t wait until the next online card class. I really learned a lot more than I expected!

A Birdie Told Me . . .

I have been completely inspired by Julie Ebersole in Clean & Simple Card Class 3 (online card classes with Jennifer McGuire and Kristina Werner).

Here’s the card I made using some of her techniques like the splatter paint, watercolor, and adding a shadow.

I’m just loving this class! And I do have to thank this course for getting me blogging again! After a tough couple months, and a big move…I’m almost back to myself again. Deep breath!

And, my craft room is almost organized and clean. Yes! A craft room that is all my own!! See, there are a few perks when your kids move out. (I miss them tons, but having my own craft room is sure a plus!) I think I just might be sharing my craft room later. 😉

Until then….
