You Make My Tail Wag

And this dog makes me smile every time! I did some inking, coloring with prismacolor and glittering. Here’s my card:

Learn to Jump

This sweet card is a one-layer card filled with sheep at sunset. (Sheep at sunset? That sounds delightful)

The “adult sheep” is teaching the “kid sheep” how to be fabulous by jumping. Lol. I had a great time with this card, masking and inking. I hope you like it!

I used distress inks for the background colors, and prismacolor pencils for the sheep. I also added some white gel pen to add a sort of “swoosh” to show the movement of the jumping sheep.

I think the little ones could jump over that fence too, don’t you? Lol.

Enjoy!

Just Hanging Around

I got an opportunity to watercolor the other day. This monkey set from My Favorite Things is perfect for practicing. I pulled out my watercolors (including Tim Holtz Distress markers that I used as watercolor) and got to work.

Celebration Cake!

Concord & 9th is celebrating big! And I was the lucky recipient of some giveaway goodies this month.

Another reason to celebrate: they now have a new Challenge Blog (Wherecreativitymeetsc9.com) started by the fabulous Jessica Frost-Ballas. So I thought I would play along in the very first challenge!

challenge-1

The theme is “Celebration.” Here is my celebration cake card for the occasion:

celebration-cake-with-stripes

You guys, this cake from the Happy Day set is SO MUCH FUN to watercolor! I knew I wanted to use my very favorite colors (turquoise and yellow) on this card. And I wanted a chocolate cake. Yum. The frosting in between layers is sparkly (is there such thing as a sparkly frosting? I don’t know…but on MY cake there is!)

And I painted on the stripes using a new-to-me method I learned from my Instagram friend, Alba. (Thanks for the tip, friend!) I used a ruler and just painted on those stripes around the cake. (Awesome)!

I used my favorite Sophisticated Script set from Concord & 9th to spell “Enjoy.” I want to make about 100 of these cards in different colors. That’s how delighted I was at stamping and coloring this image.

Happy Birthday, Concord & 9th and Happy Celebration for the new challenge blog!

Life is Good in a Tiki Hut

The Lawnscaping Challenge is all about texture this time.

lawnscaping-137

I haven’t used my “Life Is Good” set in a really long time, and I thought that little crab would enjoy some lemonade! I did some masking to make it look like the crab was holding the glass of lemonade. And then I made a “Tiki hut” for the background out of twine I had in my craft room (that’s the texture!)

A little Stickles on that ice cold lemonade makes it look so delicious! I did a little inking around the edges of the wavy paper (with Evergreen Bough Distress Ink).

This card makes me think of Hawaii. It might be time to visit. 😉

Enjoy!
