Purple Plaid

I’ve really been drawn to plaid lately….so I thought I’d give this technique a try! I was inspired by Kristina Werner to create a plaid background with Gansai Tambi Watercolors.

Combine that with the current Lawnscaping Challenge to use black, purple and one other color (I added some silver!) and I came up with this card:

purple-plaid-thanks

I love that little Lawn Fawn bunny (I’ve never used this stamp before!) and that Lawn Fawn “Thanks” die.

What do you think? Is the purple plaid too much?

I kinda like it 🙂
I used distress inks on the little circle background behind the bunny, and some silver glitter card stock for the thanks die and the circle background. Hope you enjoy!

happy-turkey-day

I’m completely into making fall cards right now, and I realized that I have never inked up that cute turkey from Neat & Tangled! So, I had to do that asap! I first painted the yellow stripes on the background, then I used the Neat & Tangled On the Strip set to add the wood grain embossing on top. I used a little distress ink around the edges. happy-turkey-day

That little turkey, from “turkey talk” was so fun to color (I used Prismacolor pencils).

Striped Thank You

I wanted to try out this set from Neat and Tangled. It’s called “On the Strip” and it has multiple interesting stripes. The one I used has little circles in it and makes for a beautiful stripe on a card.

I used two different blue inks to try an “Ombre” look. I think it’s a little difficult to tell there are 2 colors, they’re so similar. But I really like that stripe with circles in it!

I also used the Neat and Tangled “All My Heart” for the Thank You sentiment. I cut it out with a circle die. Then added some silver stars…I wish you could tell in this picture that they are silver!

Thanks for visiting!

A Sweet Hello in a Field of Flowers

Sometimes, when I need to relax, I imagine I’m in a field of flowers. (You do that, too?) And that is what inspired this next card.

a-sweet-hello

I stamped the flowers and stems with 2 different colors of ink.  Then I cut each of those flowers (from MFT’s Sketched Blooms set) so I could pop them up for a 3D effect. Maybe you can see that better in this next picture:

See that fun effect? Of course I had to add some glitter to those flowers.

I used distress ink for the background, and Prismacolor pencils for the coloring. Then I used a die cut (using MFT Wonky Stitched Rectangles) to dry Emboss the frame. The squirrel is from MFT Forest Friends. Isn’t he cute?

And now I must say a sweet goodbye. Hope you enjoyed!

Farm Animals Lost in the City?

I’ve wanted to use my MFT brick stencil for a while now. And it just came to me one day that there should be Farm Animals on this card. Hmm….farm animals in front of bricks?

So these Farm Animals are lost in the city…looking for direction back to the country farm. “Hello” “Hay there!” Lol.

I used multiple MFT products:

Small Brick Wall Stencil
The Whole Herd Stamp Set
You Make My Tail Wag Stamp Set (for the fire hydrant)
Hello Dienamics (Still one of my favorites)

I used distress ink in multiple colors on the bricks, and Prismacolor pencils to color in the animals. Isn’t that rooster so very colorful!?

I had a great time with this one. Hope you enjoy!
